I'm looking at doing the same thing and also read about the back corners coming loose. I'd really like to know what peoples thoughts are on the Black Diamond vs Twill materials on this product.
The black diamond actually matches the color of the unpainted hardtop better than the twill...
Do you ever take two vehicles on a drive together? Or maybe you and some family members are taking a road trip together. Much easier and faster to communicate with each other while you drive with a GMRS radio than trying to call each other on a cell phone.
Yeah, those look really nice and their pricing is still the same. Just can't find them anywhere right now with no good idea of when they will be back in stock.
That's more where I was expecting it to fall; around $3500 USD.
Just got a quote for an ARE, matte black, carpet, slider front window, slider side windows, and roof rails for $3000 USD. I hear some recent quality concerns around ARE... but dang... thats a big price difference.
I'm really...
I just got a quote for a Leer topper with the roof rails (cross bars NOT included) and it was just over $4000. Ouch!
Have prices shot up that much in the last few months?
I didn't know you could get it in Matte Black. That looks great! I saw the OTR in person once and it had a shimmer to it that I thought really clashed with the non-painted black hardtop.
Looking for some local help. Is there anyone within a reasonable distance from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area that has one of these three toppers installed?
Bestop Supertop for Trucks 2
ARE CX
LEER 100XQ
I'd really like to see each of these in person before deciding what to buy. I'd be happy...
Good to know a soft top works with the LEER. I think I heard that soft tops will not work with an ARE top.
Now... if only LEER didn't have that goofy angle in the front. Any idea why they do that vs straight to match the body lines??
Fellow Minnesotan here. I sandwich the top 1/4" or so of the plate between the fairlead and the bumper. Done that on two different Jeeps now and never had it move. Even when blasting through snowdrifts.
Forestville State Park in Minnesota this past September. Toured Niagara Caves a little south east of this state park. Fun weekend with my two boys.
I think that may have been the last time with this RTT though. My boys (8yr / 4yr) are getting too big to all fit comfortably in the RTT...
I haven't lifted mine. I got the Max Tow package and part of that is the unique progressive rear springs. Not that I plan to ever tow anything over 3500-4000lbs, but I do use a hitch carrier for my dirtbike and like the functionality of those springs.
However, I did install a set of Rubicon...
Coming from two previous JKU's... I got into the JT for the towing. We have an old ski boat + trailer that weighs about 3000lbs. Add in a couple people and gear it's over to the 3500lb limit of a JKU/JLU. I wanted the ability to legally tow it with the Jeep in the event our Yukon wasn't...
Haha! Kids are hilarious! Pretty observant of him though. He does have a point.
The JT seems to have become the ultimate dad vehicle and I would say that in my area of Minnesota, there are more ladies driving JKU/JLUs than men now.
Now that I think about it... I don't think I've...
Just ordered a set! Looking forward to seeing how they work!
I had a set of the rampage JK mirrors from my last JKU... but gave them to my bro-in-law after buying a JT. Now that I saw these adapters... guess who's asking for their mirrors back?? ???
