I've been going 20% on my last 3 vehicles, which should be a "perfect" match for the factory rears on Jeeps. I really like it during the day time (especially summer). Noticeably cooler on the arm than the 35% we did on my wife's Yukon.
But... night time can suck with the 20%. I often need...
I don't have any new tactics to share, more so just some words of encouragement. Our dog is a lab/mix that had major vehicle anxiety. Drooling, whining, shedding, and best of all... puking. Puking every drive - sometimes multiple times. Didn't matter if she was on a seat, on the floor, in...
Nice! I've been following you on Instagram ever since I got my Sting Grey. The snow wheeling always looks like fun!
I like how you've retained a "stockish" feel with your build. Clean, simple, highly capable and no "Fab Fours" bolt ons! :like:
I'm 6'4"... I just put my leg in and sit down. :giggle:
To your point though, I test drove an Overland trim with the plastic running boards and they were awkward. I have the enhanced (wide) rock rails on mine and they work great for my needs. Just big enough that my kids can used them...
I've considered selling my JT... KBB is putting the current value at about $10,000 MORE than I paid for it a year ago... now I'm not sure if a dealer would actually pay that; I haven't explored it officially yet... but man... if that's true... that's tempting.
My father has a nice 1999...
Now the bummer is... once the tires get that way, usually the only fix is new tires. (After ruling out any underlying alignment/suspension issues of course)
I've heard of some machines that can shave down the tires to be true again, but never actually seen or met anyone thats done it... can't...
How often do you change oil (and therefore rotate?) Aggressive MT tires usually should be rotated every 3000. I even do my AT tires every 3000 to keep on top of any whacky wear.
What kind of tires and how often do you balance and rotate the tires?
There is specific language for different types of uneven tire wear (cupping, etc), but the correct terminology rarely gets used properly. Did the dealer specifically describe what uneven wear they are seeing?
In general...
A handful of years back when I worked with some fire departments I got to see this unique build from Eagan, MN.
I don't remember all the details anymore, but started as a JKU, grafted in some custom rear suspension/axle/frame (you can see the leaf springs).
According to the department it was...
It's a bummer there aren't more options with a positive offset like that. I was looking at AEV and Method to get the +25, but ultimately ended up with a KMC 544 Mesa with a +18mm offset. (since it's only 1/4 inch different)
Sounds like the AEV wheels could have some wheel weight clearance...
