The Gladiator's cab shape is the issue, there isn't much more you can do with a top otherwise there would be other options. The design of the Wrangler allows different top configurations.

it can be totally removed in about 5 minutes and stored in the bed, way more convenient than removing the hard top, plus you can take it with you in case of rain

I agree it's not the best look when open, but it's the only option and probably will be the only option for the Gladiator.
