The kicker here is the Dana set is D44 front which youād already have and a rear 60 isemi float and that will be in some ways weaker than the full floater 44 in a JK Rubi. Only way to do an axle swap out is for D60/D60 full floater 8 lug. Lot more expensive yea but worth the aggravation and a...
I wanted a Rubicon but got a Willys. Step one itās my daily and will rarely see 4lo. Second, I already have a JK Rubicon and other than the lockers and transfer case everything else Rubicon went into the scrap pile. Sliders, skids, front housing, sway bar, etc all got replaced with better. So if...
Since new when going over bumps my ā23 Willys has made a creak sound from my the left rear goes away if ambient temps. I have successfully avoided doing anything about it for going on 18 months now.
Yes, but the torque is fairly high on the lower control arm bolts. The old spec of 190 ft lbs was replaced with a lower initial torque plus additional tightening degrees. I still use the old one. The upper control arm torque spec is 80 ft lbs.
Step one, have your wheels & tires Road Force balanced. If thatās not available have them conventionally balanced and check d for true running.
Once thatās all confirmed and eliminated as a source then move on to alignment and component checks. Iād be suspicious of the TF lower control arms...
RUN, do not walk away from this nightmare. The only viable conversions are Hemi based and there are just a couple Iād even consider. By the time you add it all up and pay for one youāll be buried in buyers remorse
I asked the question because I put a Teraflex 1.5" spacer kit on my '23 Willys right after I bought the Jeep and have never noticed anything different or harsh about its ride quality. I also added TF's 2" longer lower shock mounts and the longer lower control arms from the Mopar 2" lift. Work...
When I worked for a Stellantis competitor one of their UK plantās quality was so bad, and the labor force so militant and antagonistic, they decided to shut it down. One notable example, workers were defecating inside the doors before they put the inner panels (cards) on.
I got one for the driver's side from 67 Designs and hate it. Will get another for the passenger side. They also have a magnetic mount that turned out to be more of a nuisance than I expected. I'll switch that to a conventional clasp-type.
Yep, at our altitudes low range is your huckleberry. Not only multiplies the torque but reduces strain on the drivetrain. Our tour Gladiators are Max Tow automatics on 33s with 4:10s. We can often make some steep climbs in 4hi but the rigs are happier in 4lo.
Bear in mind as you get past central Texas on your way to Moab you'll be gaining altitude a good portion of the way. Moab is at around 4,000 ft but you'll have places in Colorado where you exceed that by quite a bit before you drop down into the valley. On the stock gears with 37s, hoo boy...
I imagine youāre restricted on Cliff Hanger and of course Pritchett Canyon, too.
I havenāt done your last trail but the first two are great. Jax Trax starts off a little slow but starts getting your attention the further you get into. Theres one very steep climb & descent near the end thatās...
Iām doing Gold Bar Rim Thursday and Behind The Rocks Tip Toe Saturday. The latter is Behind The Rocks without the Gatekeeper, High Dive, Upchuck and White Knuckle. If done those enough over the years, time to relax and enjoy the rest of the stuff. White Knuckle is basically driving off a cliff...
