After having more than one of my factory mopar full thread bolts cause issues from chucking around in my track bar, and an lca, i switched all my hardware to a Grimm offroad kit with full shanks. I also grease all by bolts before assembly. all is good now.
I empty mine about every 1000 miles, If we are idling alot on trails I tend to get more in the catch can. I still get a little residual in the intake tube, but not like it was before the catch can. Re-circing oil into the intake may be "ok" but id prefer not to. Necessary, maybe not, just...
I have done the Artec kit on our willies. Did it in the jeep, I also did their c gussets, and lower skids. One thing to watch is ball joints, I did mine with the factory units installed and ran them for a month until my metal cloak joints came in, but Id plan on just putting a fresh set of ball...
I didn't go back to stock, but I did recently switch to ACT after also having issues with the CF setup, both their external and internal slave setup. Same thing, hanging in gear, and not wanting to disengage. I currently have 400 ish miles on the ACT with factory external slave, and lever system...
Filled a claim today, would not recommend UCF to anyone, just pay the man and go motobuilt. Sad that when offered solutions a smaller company still chooses to stonewall and not just take care of their customer. Also the fitment is not good, will post pictures, I wasn't all to surprised as they...
That video just shows normal operation, even in 2wd with the FAD disconnected you will get some parasitic drive. I wouldn't be concerned at all. Any 4x4 in and engaged state will hope and bind while turning on pavement. If it hopes and binds in a straight line you have bigger problems.
Wondering if anyone has had any experience with UCF out of Alabama? I placed and paid for an order on 6-25 for their front and rear half doors, and didn't hear anything for almost three weeks, When I emailed to get an idea of ship time Matt stated that "The rears were waiting on the laser...
As I said, glad its acceptable for your taste. Its not for mine, cable shifters are notoriously vague and the modulation point of the JT/JL stock clutch and even the CF and ACT leave alot to be desired.
We must have wildly different definitions of "spirited driving" and "off road" if you think the factory clutched and shift feel is acceptable. Glad its worked out for you though, and that you have a dealer competent enough to actually trust with replacing a clutch.....
Mine worked until I left it set and drove though a water hole in 4lo, now I need new shoes, but plus one on just lifting the center counsel and tightening it up. Or just leave it in gear when parked, good practice anyway.
So far the ACT seems to be a little better than the CF, Im thinking that may be the 4lbs lighter affect. I generally shift around 3500, the hang get worse the higher you rev it. On the trail you have no issues as your not really shifting anyway. The heavier flywheel there is awesome.
Definitely don't Need the 1/2" spacer for the rear carrier bearing, but it cant hurt, really depends on how much you are going to flex and articulate the rig.
