I did my own from a sheet of plywood as well. I’m horrible with wood so the cuts aren’t perfect but it gets the job done for me.
I’ve since cut out two removable sections to be able to grab anything beneath the wood.
You’ll also find that after running at a steady temp for say.. 10 minutes or more, then coming to a stop, the coolant will rise. I easily see 230-240 during Atlanta traffic in the height of summer. I’d worry more about oil temp than coolant
Got it back today, egr valve failed, which failed hard enough that it clogged up the cooler also. New valve and cooler later (covered under extended warranty) and she’s brand new again.
Update to this, dropped off around 1200 yesterday, called around 1 today, no update as “your car has too few miles for this to occur so we are waiting for a master tech to look into it”
needless to say I’m on the way to get a rental.
editing to add: dealership took care of the rental, ended up...
Finally got mine dropped off. Scheduling mishaps then rescheduling took a bit.
They ran the code and the SA noted “odd, this says EGR Valve closed position performance impacted” as opposed to something along the lines of “egr failed”
Who knows if that makes any difference but he thought it was...
I’m at 43k ish miles (probably idled the equivalent of 60k miles) and this code is starting to pop up.. truck drives fine. Mileage at 65-70mph is 18+ so nothing too amiss. The appt is set for Thursday so we’ll see what they say
Welllll as some things do, it came crashing down. Won’t fit in our garage as it’s too tall, and we are not outside car people… it was a fun try though, great car for our test drive, would recommend anyone give it a try
Thanks everyone for the advice! This is the likely car we’ll choose. Now to get an extended test drive to make sure it fits in the garage… even with a level on my rubicon the grenadier has 5+ inches on it in height
Agreed. A 4 liter NA v8 would be amazing. My only thinking is the b58 was approved by Toyota for the Supra and to an outside manufacturer, that used to a golden stamp.
she’s not gonna wheel, so no problem there. As for another jeep, or gladiator, she’s been there and done that. We have my...
Hi all,
It’s time to start looking for our next car.. fret not, the gladiator is staying, but my wife wants to get back into the rugged realm. She had a 14 JK on 35s back in the day, and currently drives an x3m40i. It’s nearing end of life for bmws (~75,000 miles) and her heart is set on a new...
I’ll back this up. Went from the stock AT3W to the new G3’s in e, stock size. They are lighter overall than the stock tires and ride just fine on the road. When off-road, I had to drop to 20ish psi to notice any deformation in the tire itself over rocks. Not a big deal
I ran diode dynamics max in my fog position for a year or so, did amazing. I did reprogram with the tazer and the *only* issue I had is when the jeep did the start/stop when stopped, they would sometimes not both come back on after the voltage drop.
I’m running the new G3’s in E load on a stock rubicon size and I love them. Weigh less than the stock ATW3’s. Quieter and a bit better in the rain. Just food for thought
I’ve got all my oil changes from 42k miles, it’s great to go back and look at it all. Only gripe is I wish the turnaround was a bit quicker. If a sample shows bad wear, you could already be 2-3k miles further with more damage. Recommend everyone do this for peace of mind
