There are 4 bolts + 8 nuts per each side. You should be able to do it by yourself, I was able to. Just save one of the bolts in the middle for last and support the rock rail with your foot/leg while loosening the last bolt.

Just tried the center console port with my iPhone 12 on iOS 14.4.1, and it disconnected after a few minutes. Definitely curious to hear about what specification is being referred to and why it is incompatible at the software level for one port, but not the other?

I have been, and issue still persists with the center console. I've updated my phone software since, so I'm going to try it out next time around to see if it's resolved itself.

There's a thread in the Uconnect section about issues with using CarPlay on newer iPhones via the center console USB port. Haven't tested mine in awhile, but was getting random disconnects from CarPlay while it was connected via USB cable. Front USB port works without issue.
