Know what? That it takes a PhD or a degree in rocket science to do an oil change? I’m not denying that people don’t have issues, but tens of thousands of people get their vehicles serviced at dealers across the country without any problems. I love working on my own truck but they doesn’t mean I...
I just got my first Jeep Wave oil change... with 9qts of oil and a $50+ filter in the diesel I'm happy to take it. Aside from doing a horrible job dripping used oil everywhere, they did fine. I'll gladly take my Jeep in for my 2 more free changes. Some folks around here have an unreasonable fear...
Sure, but hard to find =/= valuable. Someone has to want them. The used car market of the last 2 years has been bananas. You could sell a clapped out 20yo Corolla to Carmax for $5K. I'm definitely not arguing that the last few years of non-depreciation haven't been great as a Jeep owner, just...
Mine was there when I first got it a few months ago, disappeared and came back, and now it's gone again. Must be a sign for me to use more skinny pedal.
For anyone reading this worrying about the fit of Rusty's skids, I installed mine today in about 15 minutes.
I actually reached out to them because with a "dry fit" I was 100% convinced they weren't going to fit. (Pic below... the control arm bolt is right under the big hole at center. Yes, I...
Put some frame-side LCA skids on in anticipation of my trip to Moab next month. Between this and my diff skid I think I have all my low-hanging bases covered for wheeling this land yacht, but we'll see. Still somewhat worried about the fuel filter housing...
Amen. Anyone buying ANY modern vehicle as an investment is fooling themselves. The insane used market of the last few years has got people thinking their vehicles won't depreciate in the future. Bad thinking... it's a vehicle, not an investment vehicle. (See what I did there?)
I'll gladly enjoy...
Sorry, I guess I am just going by what the iDash says. The only regen statuses I've ever seen are "off' or "pass." I think of the passive, background regen as different than a regen where your Jeep dash tells you to maintain current driving condition until the process is complete, but maybe...
I have an iDash. My trip to work is about 15 minutes each way. I have probably seen 6-7 passive regens over the course of 3500 miles. Soot level gets to 80 or so, passive regen kicks in, EGT 3 goes north of 1000 degrees and the regen shuts off with DPF under 10% if I let it run all the way. Have...
If you have the right jack stands to get the frame rails high up enough, you should be able to do it in 2 hours tops. I installed my front spacers in like 90 minutes (included dropping the axle and pulling the springs), and that was while worrying about chasing a toddler around. Pretty simple...
Threw on a Motobilt diff cover and Next Venture diff skid I picked up (brand new and powdercoated!) off a dude on the JL forums. Super beefy and I like that the skid covers the pinion seal and yoke.
Prepare for a lot more road noise and heat if you just remove and/or remove and Rhino Line or Line-X. I have no experience with the ArmorLite listed above (looks nice) but had the carpet out of my old JK and regretted it any time I wasn’t wheeling.
Not my cup of tea but I can appreciate the passion and work that went into all of these. Live and let live. If I had to pick one, I’m going with the 6-wheeler!
