  1. Diesel cooling options and ideas

Quick update for everyone... I pulled the trigger on the Insane Diesel bypass filter and auxiliary oil cooler. So far it is substantially better, however, I don't know if it's the end all solution. Insane Diesel hand delivered the bypass filter to my shop because they forgot to mail it and then...
  2. Front bumper poll - updated

That could was probably mine. I think artec posted it. It’s been snowy and rainy here in Park City so I haven’t taken any photos of it personally but my shop did when they did the install. I can take a few more photos once I get it cleaned up. I forgot about Mob Moab. Can you share that info...
  3. Front bumper poll - updated

Just got my artec high clearance bumpers installed and I think they look way better in person
  4. Unexpected problem with new M/T Baja Boss A/T's

I ran a set of 40" Baja Boss MT's for about 10k miles and they wore very evenly for an MT tire. I just got a new set of 42" Baja Boss and they are quite soft, even compared to the 40. I'm not sure if they changed the compound a bit but I wouldn't be surprised. I'm not too concerned since I have...
  5. New Artec high clearance bumpers

Alright, I have some photos. It’s not on the ground yet because I’m waiting for my coilovers to be tuned and cerakoted but figured I’d share anyways. Also added Artecs new frame chop front bumper
  6. New Artec high clearance bumpers

Mine just came in this week. It’ll go to powder coat on Tuesday and then go on once it comes back. There are photos on the website but here’s another of the artec gladiator
  7. Diesel cooling options and ideas

it’s not achieving anything since I returned it. The 3.0 is known for running hot in the jeeps. Mine has never overheated or given me any problems but if I could fix the problem with a reasonable amount of money then I would. Overall I’m very happy with the diesel platform. The 3.6 is a gutless...
  8. Gladiator off-road/overlanding portal axle build.

I see your point. I don’t know all that much about portals but I can’t imagine stock axles on 42s with a heavy overland camper would do great long term. Sadly, you can blow 150k on a build like this pretty quickly.
  9. Gladiator off-road/overlanding portal axle build.

I agree with almost all of this. If you're going to put that much weight in your bed and have an "overland" build, I would not run a 42. Especially with the 3.6! I've heard great things about WFO but no real experience. I'd look at the RPM 4 link rear and 3 link front. I've also been very...
  10. Gladiator off-road/overlanding portal axle build.

I really think it depends what’s you want out of your build. Personally, if I was spending 20k for portals I’d much rather do a full axle swap. You’ll get more up travel than with portals. With 150k budget I’d also do long arms and a really good shock package like the fox 3.0 ibp to handle all...
  11. 40’s Fitment.

70” wide axle and 3.5” BS. The motobilt fenders make it look even wider haha. I haven’t measured that yet and I have a different set of wheels/tires on for winter driving that have less backspacing.
  12. 40’s Fitment.

How I use it, yes. I also switched to a 40 after winter.
  13. Milestar Patagonia XT

Gotcha! I typically turn off traction control in 4hi haha
  14. Milestar Patagonia XT

We have the opposite issue. All the resources but a lot of snow haha. They plow the neighborhood with construction equipment because the roads are so tight so it takes them forever and by the time they finish there’s already another few inches. A lot of mornings I’d leave there’d be 6-12” of...
  15. Milestar Patagonia XT

Mhmm that's very interesting! I never thought of that. Our neighborhood had very steep, tight roads, often with a lot of unplowed road snow. Personally, I felt an AT tire with deeper tread did much better than a tire like the at3w or even a true snow tire like the blizzacks. But even on more...
  16. Milestar Patagonia XT

That's interesting. I had the toyo at3w on my girlfriends wk2 and they were by far the worst 3PMSF AT tire that we've had on any vehicle. After 20k miles they were basically worthless in the snow and borderline dangerous. I didn't believe her until I drove the vehicle and then I immediately...
  17. Milestar Patagonia XT

@Dickster @darkhorse13 Thank you for the reminder! I have been meaning to write something up now that I've had the chance to use these tires in the snow. For reference, I live in the mountain in Utah and we get a lot of snow but almost no ice. We have a lot of steep grades and windy mountain...
  18. We are trying to make the most user-friendly JT tube door…

That makes a lot of sense. Doors off don’t bother me so I never looked at it that way. Thanks for the explanation.
  19. We are trying to make the most user-friendly JT tube door…

Excuse my ignorance but can someone who uses tube doors please explain to me why you use/like them. I feel like I’d just run no doors and really don’t understand their purpose. A half door, especially with an upper, is more versatile and looks better (imo). With that said, I like the look of...
  20. EcoDiesel turbo overheating

Same but they are the ones recommending it. It never hurts to ask
