  1. Starlink Mini

I had a real nice chat with one of the GIS IT guys recently who gave me access to special high compute servers. It has helped some. But the overall network issues are still a major bottleneck. So bad that some days all of us are just at a standstill. One of our districts did get starlink...
  2. Starlink Mini

Some heavy GIS work. Good ol gov is horrible inefficient as usual, so I work from home most of the time. We recently underwent changes, nationally, to our data storage servers to be more efficient. It is the opposite. To make it worse our office network where I am is terrible. 8mbps...
  3. Starlink Mini

got a link to your product? Id be curious if you would sell one. I have the mini already. Im on the GIS side and have been looking for a way to do some remote work and still get some camping in during fire season.
  4. Starlink Mini

According to what I just saw on starlinks site, that is correct.
  5. Starlink Mini

The initial Mini plan is $30 extra on top of your home starlink plan. You MUST have a home starlink plan in order to get the 'mini roam' plan. The 'mini roam' plan is initially capped at 50gb/mo. HOWEVER, you can opt into a $1/gb over 50gb for unlimited data. IE. if you used 150gb of data in...
  6. Starlink Mini

so far I like it a lot!! Great way to communicate when desired or needed. Works well even in some trees. I have not tried while moving though
  7. Destination Unknown - 2022 JTR journal

In case anyone is curious what I have been up to. Its been a crazy busy fall. I miss the Gladiator but have since realized a truck and Alaskan camper or similar is what my body needs to continue camping. Until then I have been doing a lot of house work in preparation for winter including...
  8. Montana Several items for sale - bumpers, winch, awnings, tent, etc...

Last call for the remaining components I still have. They will go to the dump in another month or so if not spoken for.
  9. New Recall NHTSA 24V-652: Instrument Panel Cluster IPC Failure & Replacement (9/5/24)

Sound to me its just something to look out for, but a short always has potential to start a fire. https://[Banned Site]/stellantis-recalls-32863-jeep-wranglers-gladiators-for-ipc-failure/ "These clusters may experience an internal short circuit, causing the display to become blank, which...
  10. Eaton/Detroit TrueTrac instead of locker?

It does cause different driving dynamics. It's NOT an auto-locker, for some reason a lot of people think it is. But I had true tracks front and rear of my OBS F350 and paired with wrangler duratrac tires it did excellent in the winter.
  11. What ruined my leather?

Harsh reality is people just flat out don't give a 💩. I had issues with a warranty repair as well. Everything functioned but you could tell there was no passion for doing a good job. Every time my dad gets his truck back he always ends up with a new scratch or dent somewhere. It's not just...
  12. Starlink Mini

thanks for posting. Just ordered one
  13. Destination Unknown - 2022 JTR journal

  15. @arb4x4usa How's that Old Man Emu Suspension coming for the 20-24 Jeep Gladiators?

I dont think they're very interested in the Jeep game anymore. I recently tried contacting them 4 different times to get accurate specifications and information on their different springs for TJ/LJ and they couldn't even seem to help with that. They kept pointing to their own website and...
  16. Anyone switch from AEV 2.5" to 3" HD springs?

When I was on the standard 2.5" coils I was making use of them all the time. I was essentially bottoming out any time I was at a decent speed out camping. Granted, my weight was well over the standard coil capacity so that had a lot to do with it. I was pushing 7000 pounds on the standard...
  17. Destination Unknown - 2022 JTR journal

Took the LJ out for a little drive yesterday to meet up with a few from Homeward for Heroes while they're camping. Just a day trip for me until I can find a way to be away from the rescue overnight. It was a nice day. And surprisingly the LJ actually tracks better and is just as comfortable...
  18. Alaska Daily Drivers: Hydro Blue 80A and Bright White JTR

What a fantastic trip! I love this photo. It reminds me of the deep dark forest of the Olympics and west coast that I miss so darn much. All the ferns, salad, abundant mosses. Especially when it's just getting light (or dark) and the sun shines through the trees at an angle rather than...
  19. Looking for aluminum Ranchhand style front bumper/grill guard

Oh man that sucks..... For something like that I would get the AEV bumper. It will probably be the strongest option with a solid protection for the grille. I doubt anybody makes a ranch hand style bumper for the JT, kind not in line with Jeep styling.
