I don't get the 4xe. It seems to be just a short term entry point into full electrics. The tech with the 4xe is something else to fail. Especially with a FCA product lol.
Never thought I would see that BOLDED phrase in a Jeep Gladiator forum. :)
To each his own with manuals vs. autos. Loved manuals growing up. Manuals are great for small sportscars although I prefer flappy paddle dual clutch units now. I grew up with manuals. But for some reason .... on any...
For myself .... it was all about the truck fitting in the garage. That was the limiting factor. Love my 2 in mopar lift with a 3/4 inch front spacer. Plenty of room for 35 or 37 in the future. Plus. Height wise .... the truck will fit.
I was raised in Alaska. We used to place some weight (sand bags) in the bed of the trucks. This was to enhance traction in the snow. Could care less about the "rake".
My experiences dealing with dealerships and warranties. The dealership has no control over what is warrantable. This is a corporate decision. Dealerships need to get approval 1st from Corp before they will be reimbursed for the warranty repair.
If OP or anyone else has purchased many...
tldr;
I love my JTRD. If I wanted to buy an appliance .... I would have bought the Honda Ridgeline.
I buy stuff that excites me. "Flawed" cars/trucks have personality. I want reliability, but I am totally fine with all the other "imperfections".
Very amusing thread. I've learned some things from the concept of passive-aggressiveness. Like the OP ... I also would have been annoyed. But from experience (I'm 59) I realize that these situations are just not worth the aggravation. There is no "teaching" a lesson to other people. The sum...
I find this whole discussion on the diesels derating somewhat ridiculous. Especially in the hot summers of Arizona.
I currenty own a JTRD. I live in N. Scottsdale.
Long time ago I had a Ram 1/2 ton 4X4 that I used to tow a medium sized boat to Lake Powell. What a joke. With temps out side...
I'm dealing with this choice now. I got the mopar 2 inch lift to accomodate larger tires. My original plan was 37s. I'm currently on the stock 33s Wildpeaks.
My choices. 35s vs 37s. Going to 35s seems like a waste of money for a couple of inches. But my wife is already having issues...
This is what I am curious about also. Luckily I had the mopar lift installed the day I picked up my JTRD. No issues with bottoming out at all.
I'm sure I'm just repeating others, but I cannot believe that this issue was not found during the R&D phase of the JTD. It's a Jeep meant for...
Jeez. These discussions always turn out the same.
Buying the diesel does not make financial sense. For the most part ..... the diesel is potentially more of a hassle. Plenty of cons for sure.
If you are looking for a dependable daily driver ... get the gasser.
If you are looking for more...
I purchased the mopar lift and front spacer through the dealership that I ordered my JTRD from. They installed everything the day I picked her up. Just trying to build a good relationship with the dealership.
Appreciate your contribution here. I'm a jeep noob. Pretty shocked to hear about all this high temp derating stuff.
Curious. I live in N. Scottsdale. Bought the jeep to go visit my daughter in Flagstaff or visit your beautiful city. My jeep has the 2 in mopar lift with the stock 33's...
Completely agree. Logistically M/C riders are riding in a very dangerous environment mostly due to other in-attentive drivers. But that is unfortunately the way it is with vehicle drivers out there with varying degrees of driver talent and etiquette.
The issue I see is that these M/C riders...
