Here is some more information on what the dealer believes was causing the issue.
The tech was not able to duplicate the stalling, thankfully I got video of it this time and they were able to see the symptoms, but when they checked the computer again this time, he found a code "P05EC-00" cold...
I have them on JTRD and love them. I like that i am able to fine tune it with the GFC and supplies in the back. Also think it helps up front with the diesel engine. The only downside is that they are a pain to adjust once they are installed. Especially the rears if you do not notch the inner...
Haven't had any issues with the turbo and don't have any codes. Not saying that it could be a piece of the issue, but it winds up and checked out ok last time it was in the shop.
That could be it, and i am just going off from prior expernince and symptoms of when the pump first went out. Since they were identical, other than being able to restart. Even, then the pump could be failing and just not at the point of total failure. Per the dealer and Jeep, everything for the...
If the studdering was predictable and could listen to it then, that could be an option. However, since it is random and cannot be force recreated, it would be difficult to compare the two.
It has been pretty consistent with happening around 5 minutes of starting up. But it is random on when it will do it. It was fine for the last couple of weeks and then yesterday and today it did again. And nothing has changed. Same gas station, using EDT, and warming up before driving away in...
When the pump went out the first time back in 2022 (which was confirmed it disintegrated and sent debris through the system and wouldn't start up, just crank and crank), the symptoms were exactly the same. Driving fine and then start to studder and died. These last 3 times, were the same...
I have just over 45k miles on and have taken on a lot of trail and long road trips and never had any issues. Not even a CEL or anything. This has been the only issue and it appears to be getting more and more frequent. Which is why i am debating on doing the buyback and maybe getting a newer 2023.
Yeah everytime i start it up, i wait to hear the hum before fully starting it up just to make sure that it is engaging. Fuel filter was checked/replaced last time it was in the shop last month for the same thing. They tested all the fuel system and the diesel in the tank and everything came back...
Well it's back at the dealer again.
It died on me yesterday when I went to drive it after being out of town for 2 days. It started up fine. After starting up and driving down the street it started to make the claddering noise and studder and died while in motion. I was able to restart it and...
that's what I'm thinking is wrong with mine too. when they replaced the pump with the recall pump they said they didn't find any containment in the system. but then this morning when I went to drive my jeep that sat for 2 days while I was out of town. it died on me again after about 5 minutes...
Mine went out in 2022 and they replaced it with the same pump since the recall was just at the beginning stage. They also replace the fuel rails and injectors. Then Jan 2024, my jeep stalled and died on me similar to what happened when the pump went out in 2022. They were able replace it with...
got my jeep back today after they were not able to recreate the stalling and losing of power. they said everything checked out good, fuel pump pressure, diesel in the tank, fuel filter, and no codes. So basically they said nothing is wrong and see if it happens again. Hopefully it won't happen...
@MNDZLJT
Got an update from the dealer saying that their lead tech is "working with a Chrysler Engineer out of Detroit" regarding my jeep. Who knows what that means right now, but plan on calling the dealer tomorrow to see if they believe it is the HPFP or something else.
When the pump went out back in 2022, they replaced the entire fuel system. Earlier this year in January, my jeep did the stutter and lost power, but was able to restart and run after sitting for about 30 minutes. I had it towed, but they said that they checked the system and did not see any...
I got my recall done back on Jan 8th and yesterday my jeep started to stutter and lost power, just like how it did when the pump failed before. It's at the dealer right now and waiting for them to provide an update. But it has the recalled replacement pump and i have been using EDT every fill up...
Well, i was about to leave for a docs appointment before work and as i was pulling out of my neighborhood, my jeep died again. It started stuttering and making the same noise when the pump went out the 2 previous times. And then lost power and couldn't restart it. I requested a tow and while...
