Had it checked out at dealer today.....they claim everything checked out ok. Resetting the CEL and going about my business. Guess I'll have to wait for it to happen again
Both of those will end up over weight by the time you load them and your truck up. You need to be under 4k dry weight to start with.
My opinion doesn't really matter as its your rig but FWIW....... I'm sure you can set it up to get it down the road with weight distribution hitch and some other...
I've had both. Premium soft top on my first one, started out absolutely loving the soft top. The man bun look didnt bother me and judging by all the thumbs up and compliments i got, a lot of other folks felt the same.. i Was happy with it till the vibrating/flapping started. Lengthy struggle...
It sounds like you have something actually malfunctioning, the def heater, pump, injector, not just a fluke thing like mine was??? Let us know what the dealer comes up with.
If your dash is showing the digital speed in the middle, using the left control pad/arrows on the steering and press the down arrow once and then the left arrow once should get you to the DEF fluid level screen
Update.....I talked to dealer and they didn't want me to bring it in. Said without the light on they wouldn't be able do anything........guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope it doesn't happen again or if it does, that the light stays on till I can get it to the dealer.
I had a gasser with 37's, manual trans and 3.73 gears. While 37's aren't really comparable to 35's, I cant imagine that you wouldn't need to regear to retain any semblance of factory performance and mpg's. There is no benefit to a tuner without doing lots of other performance mods and getting...
Frozen DEF......are you kidding me! Why the hell would they use something that freezes and not put a mandatory heater/warmer on the system? What temp does it freeze at? Is there anything that can be added to keep it from freezing?
that one has the correct plug end but the cord comes out at 90 degrees instead of straight out like the 28500 and the factory cord.
it might work but i'd be extra careful about the proximity of the cord to the hot engine components down there.
After the mods.......Both JT's ive had routinely draw comments. Of all the jeeps I've owned over the years these get the most attention/comments by far.
It appears you are right. My warning/check engine light went out yesterday. Haven't decided if I'm still gona take it into dealer for the wed. Appointment or not.
Got a service DEF system see dealer warning light today. Service engine light is on solid now. (Its not the "fill tank" message)
Have almost exactly 3500 miles on it, just filled the DEF tank for the first time about 3 days ago. Put the more expensive 20 bucks/2.5 gallons def in it.
Called...
Mine was sticker priced right at 58k, before TTL 51k No idea why the dealer had it discounted.....just took the deal and left with a huge ass smile on my face!
Yes, all ecodiesel engines come with the block heater installed. All you need is the cord. I found one locally at napa for 20 bucks and installed it myself. I did a brief write up on it. Ill post a link to the thread
i got almost 3500 miles before i got the 500 mile DEF warning. guage was showing just a little under 1/4 tank of DEF remaining. i added 2.5 gallons, guage now reads a little over 3/4 tank. BUT......i just had a DEF system malfunction/service message pop up. anybody know what causes the...
If they tell you it's because the sensor doesn't read right unless the vehicle is in motion, ask them to explain to you why they would design it to function off a sensor not designed to read right while stationary. If that's what it is, then Its obviously a design flaw/defect they need to come...
Its not doing that though it sounds like that has happened to several guys. That said, The last time it did it to me, temp at shut down was 28 on startup it read 43......after sitting outside all night in approx 20 degree cold, block heater not plugged in. I believe actual temp air temp was 22...
