Thanks! The JL Forum hyperlink in post #22 in this thread was helpful but it still left me a little unsure as a first-timer to this repair. I wanted to post EVERYTHING I could to make it simple enough for another beginner :) I'll be honest and admit it took me a minute to figure out the...
Just a update as I remove the OEM decoupler...
** Quick Tip before reading below = the decoupler pulley is reverse-threaded when looking directly at the pulley off the vehicle like in the pics below ** If you imagine the alternator shaft as a fixed threaded post and the decoupler pulley as a...
^^ 1000% agree with this ^^
I have the RK 4-link on my Jeep and love it! All of the points above PLUS the added benefit of making spring swaps a piece of cake. Unhook (2) shock bolts and (2) sway bar end link nuts and this thing will droop down (perfectly straight mind you) to make future...
My 2020 JTR with 61K miles sounds the same. I think I'm becoming overly sensitive to the tick as I begin to read more and more threads. I swear though that I just started hearing or honing in on this within the last 2k miles. My noise doesn't change from cold start to being fully warmed...
Besides the new lash adjusters on your list, I can think of (2) more call-outs...
#1 Pay close attention to see if your oil galley plugs are loose. They have been known to back out which can cause issues. Maybe another reason for your codes, premature wear, noise???
#2 Don't let you new cams...
Following as I have a 2020 JTR with 61,000 miles and I'm finally noticing a tick where it's bothering me enough. I don't have the 2500-3000rpm "knock" but I'm also trying to get ahead of anything. My order list includes all right side Intake related replacement.
Did you also replace the right...
Thanks, yes, I'm starting with the PCV replacement this weekend. Is it true that I can shake the PCV to check the health of it? I'm not putting it back in but just curious. I'm also sticking with the Mopar PCV # that fits my 2020 and not the TSB one as I originally thought I'd try.
@Maximus Gladius thank you for asking the clarifying question as I'm referring to the "Make Up Air Hose" and was calling it (mistakenly) the PCV hose. My "MUAH" has oil in it, the plastic OEM intake tube where the "MUAH" connects (yes I only use OEM paper filters) has a stream of oil in it, and...
I mean, I completely agree as the 2020 PCV part number is different and the vehicle fitment according to the website is 2016-2022... grrr, I don't know. All I know is that the PCV hose tube is wet and where it connects to the driver side valve cover is REALLY wet. Plus both of my camshaft...
The Relentless Fab bumper has ben on the top of my list for a long time, but it didn't fit my application for a few reasons...
1) The optional tire swing carrier has no receiver provision for a bike rack. We use the Jeep mostly for MTB/camping trips and this is a deal breaker.
2) Yes, I...
Reviving this as I'm at 61K miles and diving deeper into some maintenance... my intake tube has standing puddles of oil (@chorky style above) and the TB is pretty wet. I only use OEM air filters and oil changes every 5K miles.
Is the TSB version of the PCV valve (68609110AA) for $43.68 the...
Got my Shift Autowerx frame truss in hand. Comes in pieces to weld in place. It also comes with bump stops as an FYI. The holes are not drilled for them though in the bottom of the bump bracket. Going to take a minute until I can get them installed but I'll keep this thread updated.
Just a quick and dirty measurement, the OEM Rubicon bumper at the center not including the receiver hitch is roughly 8.5" thick. The Evo bumper is basically 5" thick all the way until the corners where it tapers a little bit of course.
I'm glad the post helped you out. The OEM bumper is up at the shop right now and I can get some measurements tonight. Yes, I'd say the EVO is "thinner" but I don't know by how much. It's just tucked way higher due to the recovery points and receiver being raised as well.
2 spots, same thing... Rock Auto is also courteous enough to provide the hyperlink to the tool when you add the pulley to the cart. The pulley "info" button also has install instructions with torque specs... thank you Rock Auto!
1) Rock Auto =...
Well I ordered the Litens decoupler pulley and tool as well as a new serpentine belt. For reference I have a 2020 JTR with 61,000mi currently. I'm chasing a whistling sound and I'm going to systematically try to replace parts to remedy the issue. It might require time and duplication of parts...
