  1. Do you use a cetane booster?

Official explanation for buzzing sound in post at link below. https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/ecodiesel-buzzing-sound-from-engine-after-shutoff.35747/post-827074
  2. Oil leak

Same for me, first Jeep Wave oil change was a complete mess. My truck was dripping oil for a week even after cleaning up as best I could reach.
  3. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

I've pulled a similar weight and less aerodynamic trailer all around the Great Lakes without any overheating issues. Obviously no serious grades around here either but I've mostly done it in the dead of summer with temps in the 80's or 90's. From the error codes and other factors you listed...
  4. JT Diesel Selec-trac

If you’ve got the time, cash, and technical skills; wouldn’t be completely crazy to go for it. If it works out, you will have an especially unique (at least in North America) Gladiator. If not it will be an expensive experiment but also likely interesting journey.
  5. JT Diesel Selec-trac

It seems the Euro Spec Gladiator offers a package with both EcoD and Selec-trac. My guess is FCA/Stellantis just didn’t want to pay for certification of another diesel variant here in the US. Once my powertrain warranty is up I will likely do the switch to front cv joints but changing out...
  6. CP4 Fuel Pump EcoDiesel Recall

Ha, they aren’t advertising that element; just don’t spill it on your ride, you’ll never get rid of that whale stink….?
  7. CP4 Fuel Pump EcoDiesel Recall

So it’s renewable or mostly made up of ingredients not sourced from dino juice, has a much higher energy content, and a similar price to regular diesel (at least where it’s available). What’s the catch? Seems too good to be true, otherwise you’d think they would be selling it everywhere.
  8. GDE is back and making EPA compliant tune!

Might want to post on the Wrangler and Ram sites as well, assuming it isn’t $100k per model. I doubt there are that many California Gladiator EcoDiesel owners on this site, much less a subset interested in buying a tune for $1,000+. Nothing against GDE’s product, but if the potential sales...
  9. Damn Diesel

Agreed, not to mention most people aren’t choosing the diesel to save money. When it works, which a vast majority do consistently as evidenced by polls and anecdotes on this site, the driving experience is much better. Nearly 200 more foot pounds of torque moves the JT around like it isn’t a...
  10. Diesel Gladiator lives on per Stellantis ?

Careful talking positive about the EcoD, drives the Diesel Trolls crazy, I’m sure they will be dropping in shortly to shit all over this thread agin. It’s not their fault though, wretched is just in their nature.?
  11. Loud clunk when shifting

You can either turn on the Auto Parking Brake feature in your settings or manually engage the emergency brake before taking your foot off the break pedal if parking on an incline/decline. Then upon startup there will be no pressure from gravity on the transmission because the brakes will have...
  12. Leaking axle seal?

Same for me, fixed last fall and no issues since.
  13. 2022 Owners Manual Update to Oil Requirements

Both Jeep Wave oil changes I’ve had done the dealer made a mess, although less so the second time after I mentioned it. Both times removal of the filter assembly seems to be the culprit. Not sure if it is only a workmanship issue, maybe also design, but either way still frustrating
  14. Illinois 3.0 EcoDiesel Engine Cover

Removed the plastic engine cover and sound deadening material around/under it from my EcoDiesel Gladiator. Doesn’t make a noticeable difference sound or temp wise so it seems to be mostly for aesthetics, in which case I prefer the bare engine look. Since I likely won’t ever reinstall, offering...
  15. Rebate is a joke

Sure no warranty but in many cases a much deeper discount; for example, I scooped up a Twill Sunrider off FB Market place for $500. For something so mechanically/technologically simple, IMO equally likely the Sunrider will be damaged (accident or act of God) over it’s life vs a critical...
  16. Diesel sport +25 offset 315/70r17

Same size as mine, so then 3/4in more poke than mine should be about right.
  17. Diesel sport +25 offset 315/70r17

Depends on tire width as well, mine are only 285 or 11.2in. If you are going wider, say 315 or true 12.5in, the incremental poke (vs what I have) will be even more than 3/4in.
  18. Diesel sport +25 offset 315/70r17

For visual reference I’ve got a Diesel Sport S with narrow axles and 17x8.5 wheels with +12 offset wearing 285/70s, see pics below. A 315 at zero offset would stick out around another inch more.
