That almost sounds like they just haven't adjusted the drag link from the pitman arm to the steering knuckle in order to center the steering wheel properly.
(please excuse if those aren't the jeep terms I am just an LAV mechanic)
I installed my JKS lift by myself with my jeep on jackstands in about 6 hours. Doubled check you have all the tools you'll need beforehand.
Just make sure you have tall enough stands with a wide enough base, also make sure someone is at least within earshot just in case. :like:
I was using mine to drag a couple of old SUVs through about 6“ of mud as obstacles for a competition range. It felt plenty good for that even with my 35s and 3.73s in 4 HI. One of the old SUVs had seized brakes on one axle as well.

I've gotta recommend the Yokohama Geolandar X-AT in 35x12.5r17
Ive had them for about two months now and they're fantastic. Havent taken them down a trail yet but they're nice and quiet on the road.
Lots of dealers ordered launch editions and then exorbitantly marked them up so they never sold. You can probably get a decent deal on one since it's still sitting around.
