  1. Portable Work Desk

I work directly from my tailgate almost daily. Starlink on top of the SmartCap for the various rural locations we like to do business with. A small table stored in a net underneath, where the overpriced SmartCap table would normally mount. Similar to the image you posted. And a nice camp chair...
  2. Problems with Gladiator V8's (5.7 or 6.8)

Hmmmm, you might have better luck with your question if you ask this of a vehicle that has actually had both options available. Unless you are asking about aftermarket swaps..... Is that what you are asking about?
  3. Jeep cancels all 4xe Hybrid models!

Hear, hear! I actually went backwards in model year on two separate trucks, specifically to get a manual in the color I wanted from the beginning. Prior to the manual, I read all the hate on these forums for it. Once in the manual, I guess I just sort of got too busy enjoying rowing gears to...
  4. Wiring underneath driver seat

Good luck with your troubleshooting. https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/gladiator-wiring-diagrams-shared-with-jl.34896/
  5. Camper shell suggestions.

I also have an SA-made Defender model, and it's been absolutely great. The only oddity I can attest to is that mine apparently came with incorrect (aka lower-rated) gas struts on all the doors. I was not even aware of this until the SmartCap support folks pro-actively decided to ship me stronger...
  6. Why the Ford Jeep is the Greatest Vehicle Ever Made -- Jay Leno's Garage

It's hard to beat the powertrain in the Roxor for pure function on our property and just general fun putting around the mountain roads around here. Old school 5-speed manual paired with a barely-stressed diesel is about as good as it gets for my purposes. Tons of torque, impossible to stall...
  7. 2LO - installed

That guy was right. I end up using 4lo in my truck almost every time I haul our trailers. It's either that or buy a new clutch every year.
  8. eco diesel low oil pressure light

No idea what's wrong with your truck. However, if I may, a related suggestion: try typing your actual question/concern instead of relying on (what I assume is) text-to-speech. You may end up with something a bit more coherent. More people may then be willing to chime in. Good luck.
  9. Brake Hold at Stop Lights?

I mean, it does exactly what I want it to do, and I am happy with it. I was just agreeing with you about the manual. Also, there is no previous owner....I bought, updated (without issue), and installed it. I actually use a lot of the other features it provides. PIN lock, winch mode, sway kill...
  10. Brake Hold at Stop Lights?

Love the devices features, hate it's documentation and usability. It's so comically unintuitive that I sometimes think it must be intentional. As some sort of joke. FWIW, I also am not entirely sure this Brake Hold works on the manual trans either, I feel like I tried it way back when I first...
  11. Interior storage bag options

I don't normally consider myself "cheap", and that bag DOES look nice... but damn, I don't think I own anything small enough - and that I’m willing to store back there - that costs more than the bag itself. I guess I just got lucky in that my recovery gear came in a bag that already fits pretty...
  12. Has any one tried this tailgate seal

It's one size fits all because it's just weather stripping. Head to Lowe's/Home Depot/Ace and just grab a roll on the way to wherever your travels take you next. Happy holidays!
  13. Too ambitious: major body damage. What would you do here? (Bed Damage)

Hey, at least you missed the SmartCap! That's like half a dozen tailgate replacements. :)
  14. Airing up tires on a cold day...

Eh.....I feel like this Nitrogen vs Normal Ass Air debate gets overblown a bit. If pressure loss over time or fuel economy are the main concerns, there is plenty of evidence showing how marginal those differences are. Per one of the linked articles..... What about rolling resistance? Nope...
  15. Softopper installed on Gator Gladiator Mojave (photos)

I tend to agree. Although I have been known to make the trip to my Grandmothers retirement complex and enjoy the buffet with her.......can't beat it. I just don't want to LOOK like I enjoy it yet. I went back and forth on the Softtopper and the SmartCap, actually. Sounds like an Apples and...
  16. EZ 4x4 hinges for Freedom Tops

Interesting. Yeah, I didn't really think of guys with camping rigs who already have a full bed.....even though I am one of those people usually. Especially now with the SmartCap. That said, I started keeping moving blankets back there year-round. Handy for pretty much everything from trail...
  17. 35×9.5r17 Mongrel Tires Too Narrow for Stock Wheels?

Definitely not. Although, the skinny Baja Boss A/T's aren't much wider (10.1" section width, 8.6" tread width), and they are. I switch back and forth between a set of those on stock Rubicon wheels and a set of 37" Firestone mud terrains on Mopar steelies, both 17x7.5.
