So on Amazon Rugged Ridge said it needs some changes to work on the JL... but on CJ Pony Parts, it says it's compatible. Confusing.. . maybe there's a different part number.
I've been wondering about this for some time.... I figured someone had to make one. I'm going to do a bit of research on this, but this is probably the route I would go.
Welding a loop seems like a good idea - but I don't know the first thing about welding...
The turnbuckle idea I've got on my list too. I've got a few turnbuckles at a client and I'm planning to give one a shot when I go visit them Thursday. :like:
I was excited about it. But I don't know why it's taken them sooooo long to actually reveal the thing. It feels like they are very very very far from production. At least for the North America model.
My wife's jeep grand cherokee comes off lease mid 2020. We'll see if it's out by then... that...
Today I put in the sill guards, and installed the front license plate bracket. I also tried to make a locking mechanism for the soft roll up tonneau cover: [see detail thread]
So here's my math..
The stock battery is 51lbs, the ESS battery is probably another 5lbs and the tray and everything else is maybe another 20lbs (I might be overestimating).
That's 76lbs total.
The Odyssey batteries are 50lbs each, the tray can't possibly weight more than 5lbs, the wiring...
yea, I will try that too... In my head the clip should have given me a bit of play, enough to get it off, but not enough to still allow the cover to be pried open... but yea, it was either too much, or not enough.
Yes - I have a band saw, I was just being lazy. But I will trim some off. That will let me make the eyelet part as short as I can make it and maybe it won't interfere with the rolling.
Welcome!
That rack and rtt are not at all as interesting as what appears to be a unicycle with an MTB tire resting on your tailgate... please explain :)
I think what I need to do is go through the d-ring with small chain. Then I can adjust it and latch wherever I want... I think...
That still doesn’t solve the possible issue rolling up. Unless I attach the chain to the tonneau cover bracket...
So yea, we all know that the Roll–Up Tonneau Cover does not actually lock. It's just some weather stripping that holds it in place. With just a little force you can pull it up. Perhaps we're all closing it wrong? If you know how to make it actually lock, please, let us know.
EDIT: 2019-08-06...
