It has been suggested that you fold the bags up "hot dog" style and zip tie them in that position to make it easier to fit in between the springs. Then cut the zips once the bag is in position.

MPG has a lot to do with your driving habits and where you are. The tires you are using also makes a difference. I typically set my cruise to the speed limit and just go at that pace. These loose a lot of mpg over 65.
