They don't.
They don't intend the JT to compete in the broader mid size segment. They've said as much.
They likely view the competition as the ZR2, TRD Pro and possibly (along with the JL) the Bronco (which Ford has also pegged as a lifestyle vehicle). Higher end, niche market.
That...
Right, but the joke was to make it class 3 truck, and thus circumvent much of the safety requirements that would make an FC unlikely (like the Bollinger).
I'm still hoping that Jeep is really playing us and we get a 715 front end on reveal.
But given the leaked renders this seems even more implausible than before. I can't imagine Jeep going so far as to "leak" those renders just to keep up the charade.
But then again, why bother with these...
I would prefer an extended cab/ longer bed, but this is just ridiculous. What if the expense of engineering a 2 door and limited demand made it unprofitable?
And I'll say again...
Full size SUVs and trucks are proxies for the full size sedans and wagons that CAFE regulated out of the market. Consumers still prefer the size and power that came with those vehicles.
CAFE also incentivizes manufacturers to build bigger vehicles overall, and light...
You can turn off the ESS from the factory, but you need to do it each time you start the vehicle. Check the JL Wrangler Forums for how people have turned it off permanently.
Having trouble finding the original source, but reportedly there will be Sport, Overland and Rubicon. Article on Quadratec from Wednesday mentioned the three trims as being leaked "earlier this week."
The government CAFE regulations are a big driving force as well.
Full size sedans and wagons didn't disappear because consumers no longer wanted them. They were largely regulated ot of existence because they were a big anchor on meeting CAFE standards for passenger cars.
But consumers still...
It depends on how full the dpf is and when the computer decides it needs to be cleaned. I was reading about the first generation Ecodiesel in the Ram, and iirc, some were seeing regens at 55% full.
I know there's at least one member here with the ED in the Grand Cherokee who might be able to...
Looking at the pics of the JT soft top, it appears that the top portion is essentially the same length as on a 2 dr JL.
It's likely that the back window is the same as on the JL, and slides in a channel. The hard formed rear corners, which are attached to the side windows in the JL, are...
It's not that the engine doesn't heat up properly. It's that with mostly lower speed, short drives, the engine won't be able to start/ finish a regeneration cycle. If the dpf can't be cleaned through a regen, the engine may enter limp mode.
From what I've read, a full regen generally...
Build tool on Jeep website has a JLU Sport starting at $32,940. Leaks indicated that the JT will have about a $2500 premium over the JLs respective trim. That would put it at $35,440. Im going to guess that by April it'll go up another $500.
So my guess is $35,940 MSRP for a bone stock JT Sport.
I suppose it's possible that they could use a roll up solution, like an extendable awning. But I can't imagine that FCA would want to design yet another new roof system, when they clearly want as much commonality between JL and JT as possible.
