Got the cooler installed on my wife's Wrangler today. Let it idle and took it around the neighborhood looking for leaks. So far so good. Getting ready to drive it into town. I have it wired into one of the AUX buttons to run all the time. Lost about 3/4 quart when pulling the plugs and put about...
I plan on installing a cooler via the filter housing plugs tomorrow in my wife's Wrangler. My cooler will be installed at or lower than the plug connection so it shouldn't drain, liquid doesn't flow up hill unassisted. I believe we have the same cooler, mine is just the -8 version.
Not sure if you've seen this thread https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/bypass-filter-and-cooler-install.54743/page-8#post-1014535 but he did the same and uninstalled it.
Fittings showed up today! I can confirm that the ports are m22x1.5. I plan on installing the cooler this Saturday. We have a camping trip scheduled for Labor Day weekend so it'll definitely get put to the test.
It is ;). Pretty sure it's going to be necessary to remove the mufflers to make enough room. Did you buy one or fab one up yourself? The only place to put an oil cooler on my wife's JLUD is where the muffler is. I picked up some 3" pipe yesterday to make a muffler delete.
I agree with you. With the positive results that @Samfamaz has seen I don't think the benefits outweigh the work involved with removing and blocking off the exchanger. You would have to remove the AC compressor to get to one of the bolts and I haven't even looked to see what has to be done to...
If the oil travels how we think then the sensor is before the filter and before the exchanger. So basically it reads the hottest oil possible. I believe the plugs are 22mm not 18. Haven't gotten that far yet, but yes it appears using the plugs does the exact same thing as the NOECO delete plate...
Got the oil filter housing today. Short version is that things look great. Best we can deduce is that the middle port on the right side is the feed from the engine into the housing. From there it goes thru the filter and to the oblong port on the left. It splits in that port and goes back into...
Under normal driving I'm seeing oil temp around 220. Towing flat in the AZ heat i was seeing 235ish. Towing up grade I was 250+ and derating. So I'm hoping that a 220 sensor (I really wanted a 230 to keep from short cycling the fan) on the return side will kick the fan on early enough to cut off...
I went with it because I had a hard time finding a sensor with the temp I was looking for. If you know of a sensor that's in the 220* range then I'm all ears. I didn't want it to be adjustable. Everything I was finding was 180* or lower for non adjustable and everything I've seen says that our...
I'm installing an adjustable sensor. I had planned on putting it in the return line since it maxes out at 220*. That is if I could figure out which is which. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CKGY51J?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
