For the record both the wife and I miss our Xterra Off Road that we should have never let go. Loved that truck! Dumb move on our part, but babies bring more user friendly suvs. Always watching craigslist for one.
Don't disagree at all that Jeep could do a better job. As you said - no sane person buys a Jeep! Who buys a new car and immediately starts tearing them apart? Insanity for sure.
Owning one is full of compromises. In the end they take us places we would never get to and meet great people we...
Was looking under the JT and see the two bungs that are at the bottom of the oil filter/cooler assembly. Think someone asked this question somewhere in the 30+ pages, but can those be used to run the external cooler like @Glad_he_ate did, but without using the insane diesel bypass set up?
From...
Ironman Raid Series Sliders install
Ended up getting these sliders/steps. So many choices it can be info overload.
Not a hard core rock crawler and didn't need some of the over the top sliders.
Really wish LOD had the destroyer sliders for the JT - would have been the number one choice...
Buying out of state-
Some notes on buying out of state for our California residents.
Not knowing the process was stressful! The dealer (Cummins in Georgia) assured me they do this all the time with no problems, but no one could really tell me how it worked in detail.
I had the truck shipped...
I don't fault them for that. It is harsh out here! If you are in CA you cant even see the details on the website. Had to read up when I was in AZ. I think they are going to verify where your VIN is registered not just your mailing address. Maybe I will register it at my folks place in AZ one...
Thanks!
High heat wrinkle coat - will see if it holds up.
Only drove around the block and couldn't tell. Going to get a CAI soon and hopefully the two will make some difference.
-35 probably still hasn't made a dent with the Smartcap added, but it is something. At least will offset the control...
MBRP straight pipe exhaust install after work tonight. Read somewhere on here to take the bolt out of the trackbar and you can remove the exhaust without cutting. That worked fine especially with a lift - might be some finagling without. Torque for the trackbar bolt is 115lbs to save you some...
Thanks for starting this thread. Was just struggling with the smog check for my JT bought out of Kentucky. Drove it a bunch this week, up to 650 miles, and had two sensors not active.
Had to go back to smog 4 times total, but the last time was bc the guy didn't remember it was a diesel and...
Not sure. I had all Rhino Rack stuff on the JK and it doesn't work with these bars. I did measure the mounting bolts that slide in the slot of the cross bar so I could go get some Home Depot. Below are the measurement pics.
Fortunate to live a few miles from Front Runner. Dropped in last week to get a set of cross bars. They are beefy and wide. Realtively easy to install. Did have a small issue with one of the track anchors - the bolt spun as soon as the locking nut got snug. Tack welded it back in place and all...
Testing out some storage on the Smartcap. Used the rivets in the ceiling with eyebolts to hang the traction boards. Used the molle panel to hold a kinetic strap and soft shackles. The gas struts are really strong - guessing you can put some weight on there before it slows the door opening...
Congrats, you will love it when it is done!! Shocks are great. Had the Teraflex Falcons on my JK and these feel way better. Limited use so far, but did well on some washboard and big ruts this week. No true test as of yet.
