The issue is the implication they made of "we can't do anything about it until we verify it's a recall", which is exactly wrong.
And it's not exactly "free". When I bought a new truck, I paid for working shocks.
I get that's a thing for THEM, but they acted like they have to do it before they fix it. Warranties don't need recalls, just fix it and then do whatever paperwork you need to!
I am actually relieved though. I've read that for a few years they were having bearing seals leaking. So when I saw...
Found a shock leaking. 4000 miles. Never off road.
Called the dealer to get a replacement ready for my next oil change.
They said they need to verify where it's leaking because there might be a recall.
I said I don't care about a recall, it's a new truck!
It's been more than a decade since I was down there. Across the alley from where we stayed there was a house for sale. One exterior wall removed, internally gutted to the point that the two story was just one big room from ground to rafters, so close to the houses on either side that you...
After testing the competition, I would bet that they realized the JT doesn't really compete in the same market and they want to make the Dakota more car-like to match the "competition".
Update: I DO have a temp! But it only shows on the Home screen when it is in split screen mode with the "Comfort" widget. It does not show if it's full sized or on the dedicated page.
I also don't think it actually measures interior temp. Seems to just be a reference in 3.9 degree increments...
I have a Nighthawk, so I can get berated on here with no waiting!
Actually, I'm currently moving, so any big purchases are on hold. Then my next excuse will be not wanting to potentially mess up the warranty. Not sure what my excuse after that will be.
I think this is kind of like "God of the gaps". People attribute a super-intelligence to things they don't understand. With modern engineering you're lucky more bridges don't fall down, designing to fail at a certain time is not in their abilities. At least at this level of engineer pay...
In searching tangential to some of the above suggestions I found this cheapy.
