  1. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Hooke Road makes a nice Molle panel for the rear seat roof that would not require removing the headliner. Here is one installed in my JLUR. I would suspect it cost less than AAL as well.
  2. 38x13.50x17

37s are so last week though. 40s are actually the new 37s, so 38s are being pretty conservative.
  3. 38x13.50x17

38s are pretty limited. Toyo and Mickey Thompson don't make them. I'm looking for 38s for a 2-door JL I have ordered. I think I'll go with Falken Wildpeak MT in a 38x13.50R17 size, but I'm still interested to see what other people are using. I've got time, the Jeep hasn't even been built yet.
  4. Noisy Fox shock?

I don't have any noise with the Fox internal bypass shocks on our JT Mojave yet. It has 20K miles on it. The big annoyance for me is the loud pad slap sound when the bump stop hits the pad on the axle. This Mojave blows through it suspension travel way too easily. The King shocks on my JLUR...
  5. Bed Topper (OVS, RSI, etc) and Cargo Management (Decked, Slide out, other)

Agree with the depth/ht of the Decked system being a concern. After installing a Decked system you need a Smart Cap or some other kind of shell on your Gladiator, because the Decked system pretty much changes it into a flat bed truck. I was afraid things would fall out when driving the truck...
  6. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Wow, I really like that lift. Does it feel secure with your truck up there? Do they make one higher than 6,000 lb capacity. My JL 392 weighs 6,550 lbs on the local Cat scale. It has grown a bit since it was new and has 40s, a lot of steel skid plates, bumpers, step sliders. Have you weighed...
  7. Bed Topper (OVS, RSI, etc) and Cargo Management (Decked, Slide out, other)

I'm happy with our combo of a Smart Cap and a Decked system. Both are super high-quality products and are very sturdy. The way the side gull-wings and the rear lift gate seal up on the Smart Cap is fantastic. It stays clean and dust free inside. If choosing a cap and drawer system again I...
  8. She Said It's Hard to Get In

No, not everyone in this group wants a cheap running board step that is going to fold up like a tin can the first time it contacts the ground or a rock. You never know who is going to be reading this thread, so thanks for posting about the sale Northridge. It was the first I learned about the...
  9. 410 gearing to 488's

I used this method on prior used vehicles I have bought. Jack up one rear tire, put the transmission in neutral. Tape a string to the side of the driveshaft. Then turn the rear tire one full rotation. Count how many times the string wraps around the driveshaft. In my case I was trying to...
  10. How brand loyal are you?

I also try to get the best part. But I've been doing this for a long time, so some things I have settled on as being the best without having to piece something together. I've used a number of different suspensions, like AEV, JKS, Teraflex, and others, and for the Rock Crawling I like to do I...
  11. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

I added a Smart Cap on our Gladiator Mojave today.
  12. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Dominion Freight just dropped off a pallet with a Smart Cap in it at my house. My son texted me a picture of the boxes sitting on a pallet outside my garage. I'll have work to do tonight. Film at 11:00
  13. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Hi Greg. I've been reading all this, and I hope I've kept the players straight. Aren't you the former LEO that said using a gun to defend yourself was a fantasy? If it was someone else, then I am sorry and I defer this post to them. It sounds like you are saying people should not purchase a...
  14. Jeeps during the AMC years.........

I drove my restored CJ5 for 130 miles on the interstate last fall. It has no power steering and no power brakes, and those were the most immediately noticeable differences. I did not drive the speed limit of 80 mph. Sixty mph was pushing it for this old gal. I was actually quite surprised...
  15. WOLFBOX Tire Inflator Review

How many CFM does that air pump put out?
  16. Jeeps during the AMC years.........

I've owned several AMC Jeeps. My first was a 1980 CJ7 that I purchased new. It was my first new vehicle purchase. My current AMC Jeep is this 1973 CJ5. It has had a complete frame off restoration done. That included a new (not rebuilt) 304 V8 long block crate motor that we managed to find...
  17. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

I installed a Decked System in our JT Mojave today. And I already have it filled with recovery gear, tools, air compressor, first aid gear, and survival gear. That didn't take long to run out of room to put stuff again. But at least I have more stuff with me now.
  18. March 2025 Red Rock 4-Wheelers Trail of the Month

Thanks for the write up. And a good time was had by all. :)
  19. Check out this GREAT GAS MILAGE I GOT.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I had never heard of hypermiling either, so thanks for looking it up for me. My experience has been that it is usually some prick in a Toyota that is holding up a whole line of traffic on a two-lane road that has too much traffic to pass, because they are...
