It's possible to connect a charger directly to the battery post, bypassing the battery sensor. Both batteries still get charged, but it messes up the battery sensor analysis of the main battery.
I bought a used head unit from a stereo shop. They had a contact at the dealer who used the radio serial number and my VIN to generate a code for the radio to work in my JL.
If you unplug the PCR, you don't need the jumper and if you use the jumper, you don't need to unplug the PCR. Either one provides uninterrupted main battery power to the system electronics. I haven't tried it, but no one that has unplugged the PCR has ever reported getting errors.
I typically...
Since you've already rerouted the aux battery leads, just connect the aux battery positive lead to the main battery positive and remove the aux battery. This is how the Genesis dual battery system works, it uses a single battery for the main and aux battery and the second battery is for...
Jeep refers to it as both the ESS and the aux battery. During an ESS event, the batteries are separated by the battery relay, the ESS/aux battery powers the system electronics and the main battery powers the engine electrical systems. You can remove the ESS/aux battery by bypassing/disabling...
It can be eliminated without any issues, JL owners have been doing it for years. Some totally remove it and permanently wire everything to the main battery. Some leave it in and temporarily bypass it with a jumper or by unplugging the battery relay.
It doesn't do all that. Here's a discussion about making better use of the aux battery https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/ess-dual-battery-management.60034/post-1287541
Good luck with your order. I had their front door bags on order since late July and finally gave up a few weeks ago when another brand became available from Quadratec. They did let me return the rear door bags I've had for months and paid the return shipping, so no complaints about their...
When I bought my Gladiator, it was almost exactly as I want it. I probably could have got a higher percent off on a different one at a different dealer, but I knew I would regret it later. It's seems to me you have a perfect storm of variables converging to facilitate this purchase of almost...
Thanks for the tip, I bought a box of these. I added string loop thinking that if you attached them with a string somewhere, you could drive a short distance after getting unstuck before you would need to stop to pick them up.
Here's how I upgraded my speakers and it sounds great without an amp or sub woofer. The write up covers my JL, but the install works the same in a JT. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/base-system-speaker-upgrade.75015/#post-1562924
My favorite mod so far is the speaker upgrade for my 5" unamplified stereo. I also like the Borla type S cat back exhaust upgrade on my JL and prefer that over a CAI. I really like the sound of that exhaust.
