Tiny Rig installed ours in September, awesome experience and fully sealed.
Installed AEV 2.5" dual sport lift and Hellwig swaybar before the Alu-cab.
Installed a rear camera relocation bracket from Mule Expedition Outfitters, thx @Steven_B For r&d this. Still in the process of the build-out...
I am running the full kit. I would recommend the Clayton 3.5" rear spring set. I CAT scaled before and after Alu-cab install and with out the interior built it is 500#. John (Darkhorse13) is 600# and yielded a 3" lift from the 3.5" rear springs from Clayton.
In about a month I will have my...
Hey Jeremy, @darkhorse13 is running a Clayton spring combo with a 600 lbs of static load. I don't remember what shocks he is running.
Maybe worth checking into.
Good luck, safe travels.
Her is some info. A lot has changed on the rig.
Installed the AEV 2.5" lift and Hellwig sway bar. Drove to LA and Tiny Rig installed our Alu-Cab canopy camper. The AEV lift is handling the added 500 lbs very well.
Any questions please ask.
Yah the Rubicon's are a little floaty. We have not lifted ours yet. Had to install ICON 1 3/8" billet blocks in the rear to compensate for 600# static weight.
Been on the forums for a while monitoring lifts etc. The factory Sport "MAX Tow" rear springs my work for you. There set-up to handle...
Ordered & purchased our JTR Gobi through Kent. Awesome experience! He is very busy, shoot him an email & call.
No "BS" experience/games. Straight talk without the shady dealer stuff. Highly recommend them.
Would have been a 20 minute sign & drive away. But I was talking a lot with Kent &...
I'm in the same boat! Love AEV but the standard springs will not support the 600# static weight of rack with RTT etc. Hopefully AEV releases a HV/overland kit soon.
Currently using a ICON billet spacer (1 3/8") in the rear to compensate for the 600#s.
Clayton is the best bet on the market...
Axle width is the same, brakes are the same, axle ratio (4.10) is the same (MAX tow option in relation to Rubicon model) E-locker is only difference. Recommend using #3 & #4 switches, they are the 15 amp ones (#1 & #2 are 40 amp). Recommend changing rear first (rear more useful off road) then...
Very nice! We have a Gobi as well. The Alu-Cab looks awesome! By the looks of it, you switched to the Clayton rear springs?
Look forward to your build out.
For advice - still need to know the load you are running.
Suspension details
Example - we are at 420 lbs static load, rack with RTT and awning
We are still using stock springs and shocks on the JTR. Now by the time we are loaded for a trip, add 400 lbs of gear and swap...
