I used to have some funny noises when shifting in low gear (maybe clunks) but it's sounded great since getting the clutch recall. Did you get that done yet?
I'd say if power locks and windows are a must have, just wait until you can find a Sport S. As another user mentioned, he spent a couple grand and a lot of his time trying to switch that out, and it was a huge pain in his ass. Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should or would...
That's actually why I enjoy the gearing better now with 35s (for daily driving). I find 1st to be a useable gear now and I can use 2nd gear more as well. 6th gear was always useless anyway 🤷🏻♂️
I'd suggest checking out the Toyo Open Country AT3s in 35x11.5r17. They're skinnier than what most use (12.5" wide) and are within the specs for the factory rims. They come in at 63 lbs, only a couple pounds more than your Wildpeaks. With factory rims and those, you won't be thinking about the...
This would be my take on each of your reasons:
1. Power seats are not the be all end all. Generally your seat position remains fixed anyway and I find the manual seat adjustments quite easy to use.
2. That screen is nice but you're not going to be watching your favorite show while you're...
That's a lot of pretty good revelations for just 1k miles (at the time). That's a good little tip about using the cruise control on the highways, it truly does a better job maintaining speeds
I think undoubtedly you'll enjoy the transmission, especially with a little bit of experience with it. A lot of the people who bash the manual are automatic owners who feel the need to validate their boring decision, or people who just test drive it surely not long enough to get to know it. The...
I have a 21 Sport S 6-speed. I added a 4 inch Readylift kit with Falcon Shocks and 35x11.5r17 Toyo Open Country ATIIIs. I also got the clutch recall but had no issues. Only thing is I'm only at 29,000 miles. I'd say there's not much I don't love about it. It's an incredibly fun transmission once...
Wow, that was painful for me just reading about that.. Sounds horrible. Yet, the tone I got everytime I tried to call them makes me not too surprised. In fairness my Oculus switchbacks have worked flawlessly for about 8 months now. What I especially like about them is how easy the turn signal...
Those will work, you don't need new fenders. I just installed the American Adventure Labs fender kit on my Sport S.. They make a special bracket for the non-Rubiconians (great customer service if you have any questions). Can't speak to whether the other companies make different brackets or not...
Pop some Alla bulbs in there for cheap... I replaced all my front lights with proper LED lights but I think I might be in the minority that actually likes the classic look of the factory halogen housing. New LED bulbs freshen it up nice IMO
Might I ask... what happened with your Oculus switchback headlights? I have them as well, so far so good but good to know of potential issues.
I agree about their customer service. I called them to ask which LED bulbs to put in my DRL & front turn signals (before I went the American Adventure...
