  1. Rubicon crawler/overland build

the trick to shelf roads is todo them late at night in the dark, especially when your spouse falls asleep…. Then they are t leaning all over you when your trying to drive and keep your underwear clean. If you can’t see the drop because of the dark, then i say in my mind it doesn’t exist. one...
  2. Rubicon crawler/overland build

Very nice set up! Love it! Pictures of travels are awesome.
  3. Did I screw up and buy the wrong truck?

You will be fine with the 8 speed auto and modern traction control. tires and airing them down will be a huge benefit for traction. My favorite have been BFG At KOs but there are other AT’s that will work. Having recovery gear to include a winch is always my go to. I’ve driven lots of forest...
  4. 2020 HOOKSTER ?

Finally added the Oracle tail lights! I absolutely love these! They are very bright and IMOP look better than the fancy LEDs the factory sells. I know the Max Tow haters will be so happy, I have the new “HOOKSTER “ hood decals so the Max Tow will go. I also have the rear tailgate and light...
  5. 1,516 miles towing with my Gladiator, 11.2mpg

I always stay on this side of caution. I would not ever like to see 230* with the 8 speed. The ATF May be good to failure but the transmissions… any auto transmission does not like heat. I had gauges for all my diesel transmissions and watched them like a hawk. from advanced transmissions; “The...
  6. Would you buy a Bestop soft top if available?

100% will buy a Best Top Soft Top and I know they can design one without the man bun. It is not that I don’t like the man bun look so much as it will get in the way of my next mod for the RTT. I am trying to keep this big a JB on the truck and be able to use a soft top in the summer (I love my...
  7. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

My OCD had to fix this for ya…?
  8. 1,516 miles towing with my Gladiator, 11.2mpg

I’ve towed a lot this year and shifting manually is the trick to better fuel mileage and easier on the truck. DEFINITELY keep checking engine and transmission temps. You need to stay under 220 for the transmission.
  9. Gladiator vs Gladiator

I bought mine October 2020. Rubicon price was $65K my Sprr S with Max Tow Package was $42K so $23k difference. I drove it stock for about 40,000 miles. Stock other than home made rack set up. 11. Gladiator vs Gladiator

you said it hemorrhoid, IMOP it is not smart. jealousy abounds with the Max Tow for all you Rubifons. The Max is a much better start to a build. IMOP of course . My rims are Rubifon take offs for $50.00. ? don’t get me wrong I love the Rubicon, I know that it is a waste of my money to buy one...
  12. Gladiator vs Gladiator

Ha, what warranty, put your rig in the shop for jeep to hold onto while they replace an entire axle in a month or two? No thanks, build it with better parts, avoid the dealer. Warranties are a joke for Jeepers that build their rigs.
  13. Gladiator vs Gladiator

Dan I was out there this summer and ran trails in Utah and Wyoming as well. I did not do MOAB which was hard as I passed through. I didn’t have the time. Next year maybe. no you can’t start with a Ruby and build a better rig for less. If you are building a rig best start is not a Ruby or Moab...
  14. Gladiator vs Gladiator

Less than the $20K I saved by not buying a Rubicon. I’ve had a rubicon, this time I decided I wanted better aftermarket parts. There is a thread along with this one about the locker issues. I had that happen 3 times with my previous Ruby.
  15. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

  16. Gladiator vs Gladiator

Okay, name it Dan, I’ll be your huckleberry. From the factory, yeah your pretty close to being right. The Bronco is pretty good now though. aftermarket is a LOT better than the sum of factory Rubicon parts though. - ARB Lockers - Aftermarket Suspension - aftermarket sway bar DC’s -...
  17. Gladiator vs Gladiator

Bahahaa! Who cares, most of the soccer moms around here have no idea what the Rubicon sticker means on their hood… but they love the sticker! if you like the look I say go for it and pay no attention to these stupid… “oh I paid too much money for my Rubicon so you can’t put Rubicon parts on...
  18. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

FINALLY!! Put the Oracle tail lights on that I ordered over a year ago and received 2 months ago… thanks Quadratec for allowing Oracle to keep overlooking my order! I mean that with all the sarcasm I can muster.
  19. Lets hear about your Lift

First lift Rubicon Express 3.5” complete kit for 37” BFG at KO’s . Very plush and capable. not for an overland rig because the weight will sag the leveled JT with RE lift. I had RE lift on for 6 months. New lift is complete Clayton Overland Kit with Tereflex Falcon Shocks and Rock Jock HD...
  20. Gladiator vs Gladiator

This is it! This is what we jeep builders laugh about every time we are told the only jeep to buy is the Rubicon trimmed version. Most never use it for it’s purpose. Not using the lockers will definitely cause failure. Look, if you want a Rubicon… this person says no place to off road AND they...
