  1. Entire Gladiator Line-X Sprayed

Looks really good :) Should be nice for the trails. I’ve already earned some nice pinstripes... Congratulations!
  2. Bring a boot/wheel lock for road trip?

Also, thank you to those who have given constructive answers to this thought exercise. It’s good to have a community of people who like tinkering, gadgets, and adventure. As everyone with that mindset knows, we all have good ideas and bad ideas AND receive good advice and bad advice. Thank you...
  3. Bring a boot/wheel lock for road trip?

I was actually thinking about building a passive GPS tracker as a fun project. I never remember to turn on the GPS tracker on my phone or tablet when going on trails or drives, but a microcontroller installed in the car feeding data to a small server could do that passively, and I could pull it...
  4. Rock Lights install

I agree with LostWoods. This is what you get if you mount using the rock rail mounting holes to illuminated between your tires. I’ve been considering adding another pair just behind the bumpers, but honestly I use my rock lights more for lighting up my work area when I play with the truck...
  5. Rock Lights install

I’m not sure I can help with the front and rear, as I installed them in the aluminum fender liners I installed. For the wire routing there are a couple options I’ve tried for various wires: - down both fender wells along the body outside the frame, you can run the wires through the brackets for...
  6. Practical Truck for the Over Prepared Woman

Also installed the bumper supports for the rear genright bumper. These required a little cutting inside the body panel. I cut a 2 inch notch out which was more than enough for a clean install.
  7. Practical Truck for the Over Prepared Woman

I reinstalled the powder coated motobilt molle panels tonight. They mount behind the trail rails and with 3 bolts into the bed of the truck on each side. I used rivnuts to make the bottom attachment points a little easier.
  8. Bring a boot/wheel lock for road trip?

We’re going to do several sections of the TransAmerica trail from Virginia to Moab, with some fun side trips along the way there and back :)
  9. Bring a boot/wheel lock for road trip?

Thank you for everyone’s advice. As I mentioned in the beginning of the thread, I personally felt it overkill. When you have trusted friends giving you advice like that, it’s always good to get a second opinion though.
  10. Bring a boot/wheel lock for road trip?

The locks from Rampage and a Summit branded 250 amp switch.
  11. Bring a boot/wheel lock for road trip?

Cool, thanks for helping me keep my sanity. I would hate to be lugging those things across country!
  12. Bring a boot/wheel lock for road trip?

Doing a cross country trip in a few months and looking for opinions on peace of mind countermeasures. We’re going to be alternating camping and doing hotels, and while not going anywhere suspect... the world is a little crazy right now. I have a lockable hood and a battery disconnect already...
  13. To Solenoid or Not

I pulled the steel pipe that comes with it because it could come in contact with the battery terminals and replaced it with a length of silicon tube as a short term fix. That works, but isn’t as clean as I’d like. As mentioned I’m testing some bracket designs to put the metal pipe back without...
  14. To Solenoid or Not

I snagged mine on a sale, but I 1000% agree. I’d already had a couple fuse holders crack under my hood, so I bit the bullet on that one. Just check every couple months. After that experience and seeing how like every custom bracket is about the same price (if not more!), I bought a press brake...
  15. To Solenoid or Not

You could also buy the JL Audio fuse mounting bracket or make your own from bent aluminum :) Don’t mind the random wires and disconnected snorkel. Making some brackets myself right now.
  16. Practical Truck for the Over Prepared Woman

Pictures of the Artec skids and front Axle truss as requested:
  17. Practical Truck for the Over Prepared Woman

Attached the Shrockworks sliders tonight. I definitely recommend a floor jack. Even with my husbands help, these things were a lot of steel to move around. I was really impressed with the installation though. Well thought out hardware. I test fit these before sending to be coated due to the...
  18. Practical Truck for the Over Prepared Woman

I mentioned I was trying alternative mounting ideas because the Maximus air plate wasn’t quite working out here is the current set up. It’s a 1/4 inch plate cut to fit the cross beam. The compressors tuck nicely out of the way, and they are protected by the skid plate and frame. I doubt I’ll...
  19. MBRP Single SS Exhaust Weight

I installed the mbrp system last night. Around ~30 lbs seems about right. As I was cutting (sawzall) the OEM system out, I was comparing the weight and the MBRP exhaust is significantly lighter. I would recommend holding a little longer though. I took it for a drive today and felt a bit of a...
  20. Practical Truck for the Over Prepared Woman

The objective of the air system is to have an integrated solution which provides enough continuous pressure to power air tools and provide easily accessible air for filling tires. I also don’t want to take away from inside storage, and I knew nothing about air systems before I started :) I...
