I didn't splice anything, wasn't super worried about the DRL and turn signal in the headlights. I just wanted something brighter so I could see more than 5ft in front of me on backroads.
Not sure if anyone mentioned them, but I ended up going with Highbeam Offroad Drifter series headlights. Cutoff is good, haven't had anyone flash me with their highbeams, but these have got to be some of the brightest headlights I've seen. 4k/10k lumens for L/H beam...
And when you consider the Ranger and Gladiator are the basically the same overall width there is definitely more room because fender flares vs regular wheel wells.
I'd love to see if the old M715 front end conversion improved airflow because you lose the slots.
Not hard to believe at all, both the turbo 4 and the ecodiesel have intercoolers robbing cooling capability from the radiator. Also running NA in general produces less heat that any FI setup.
I just don't really care about power locks/windows, because my doors are off more than half the year, and I have a soft top so I don't lock the doors. The entire back window is removable without unlocking the doors or someone will just cut it if they really want in. Also by "fancy electrical...
Would have been if it caused him to spin in front of me. There was no room for me to get out of the way. They might have been at fault, but doesn't do me any good if I'm dead
In all honesty those things would have made the situation so much worse. All I had happen was some rubber transfer on my wheel and a little scar that would likely happen off-road anyways. Blowing out the guy's rear tire would have caused all hell to break loose with him going as fast as he was.
Driving to work this morning I had someone try squeezing between traffic and swiped my front driver's side wheel. Any other vehicle and there might have been some body damage.
That being said, I didn't catch the license plate of the car as it sped off. Anyone have a good dash cam they prefer...
I'll be happy with it as long as the tech catches up with gas convenience, but then again I can always keep a gas vehicle until it does, just can't buy new.
Hopefully batteries catch up soon, apparently no new gas or diesel vehicles after 2035 in California. I wouldn't mind the jump to electric if it has capable range.
I mean if I'm driving 65 on the highway and it's a straight shot I average 25mpg with 33s and 3.73 gears. So 500 to a tank that way I could see, but any mixed driving and I'm only averaging 18.
Agreed, I've seen a couple people that have done the 5.7 swap or bought with it already done and feel its a perfect fit. For me wanting to build more of a Mojave setup its a way better fit than the diesel.
