  1. Requirements for 40’s?

I already upgraded the ball joints a couple months ago
  2. Requirements for 40’s?

There’s plenty of 40’s with stock brakes, transmission and cooling. In my mind the axle is the one that’s questionable.
  3. Requirements for 40’s?

I don’t want to have to do shafts and truss’s though. When I say a stock d44 I mean stock haha
  4. Requirements for 40’s?

I don’t run trails. It’s a daily driver. It may see offroad at some point but for now it’s just a pavement princess.
  5. Requirements for 40’s?

I’m about to get my jeep regeared and am considering new tires after. I was looking at 38’s but there aren’t many options and some 40’s are similarly priced and similar weight. Obviously the leverage will be greater with the 40. Can stock 44’s handle 40’s? I don’t offroad but might some day and...
  6. Actual tire height database

Have seen this on other forums but from years ago; figured why not try and start one here. Yeah I know it’s not scientific and is subjective on so many levels. But this still gives an idea for people looking to purchase. Looking for the following info: 1. Gladiator model and engine 2. Tire...
  7. Help me decide 4.88 or 5.13 for my use

I also wonder keeping the bfg’s being that they’re a little smaller than other 37’s does that even matter in gear choice?
  8. Help me decide 4.88 or 5.13 for my use

I worry about hitting 6th gear at times too. Stock 6th gear still would be below the 3000 rpm of the 2nd stage of the oil pump. But with 4.88 or 5.13 6th will probably push over the 3k at highway speed.
  9. Rocksport red with Clayton lift, as well as overall experiences

Control arm drop brackets definitely improve ride as well. If ground clearance isn’t a concern
  10. Rocksport red with Clayton lift, as well as overall experiences

I went with rocksports and they were ok. I found a good deal on bilstein 5100’s and bought them. I prefer them. On road handling is better. Bumps are a little more jarring but not bad.
  11. Help me decide 4.88 or 5.13 for my use

I want it to be a good all around vehicle. Something that can drive well down the road, tow well and offroad well. I almost feel like I’m at a 51/49 split and the 4.88’s are the 51. I daiky drive it far more than I tow anything or offroad.
  12. Help me decide 4.88 or 5.13 for my use

    Tough choice for sure
  13. Help me decide 4.88 or 5.13 for my use

Currently with my 37 bfg’s I average about 17 in the summer and 14 during the winter (more remote start and idle time).
  14. Help me decide 4.88 or 5.13 for my use

I drive 70 on the highway around my area. I’ll 75 in Pa since the speed limit jumps to 70 there.
  15. Help me decide 4.88 or 5.13 for my use

I’m back and forth on 38’s. 37’s does give me more options of tire choice. 5.13’s would be good for towing but I don’t tow that often or with much weight. Torque off the line is fine but it’s a brick so. I don’t really see any mountains and if it has to drop into 7th to climb a hill that’s fine...
  16. Help me decide 4.88 or 5.13 for my use

Happens frequently if I’m cruising at those speeds. If I’m accelerating to get to 70 then no of course not. If I had 5.13’s the only difference would be that I’m in 8th gear. The rpm would be the same as my 7th gear with 4.10’s. It would be no more or less efficient. At that time. The only...
  17. Help me decide 4.88 or 5.13 for my use

That’s where my concern is. My daily driving is just through town so no worries there. But it does get on the highway often and It will see multi hour roadtrips that are solely highway driving so I don’t want it to suck. But it will also see some towing, albeit minor, still towing. Offroad is...
  18. Help me decide 4.88 or 5.13 for my use

My JTR sees 8th at just under 50 as is with my 37 bfg’s 🤷‍♂️
  19. Help me decide 4.88 or 5.13 for my use

Luckily I have the rubicon with the 4:1 so I think I can get away with a lower (numerically) gear
  20. Help me decide 4.88 or 5.13 for my use

I’m torn between 4.88 and 5.13. I can see situations where I could be unhappy with either as well as happy. The reason I would go 38’s is because why not. I have the ability to and some 38’s are even cheaper than 37’s. Albeit there isn’t as many choices in 38’s compared to 37’s. But I’m content...
