I used the Adaptive Cruise to help with the break-in period. It kept the speed varied, due to the traffic flow, and hit the throttle hard a few times recovering from slow downs. The main thing, from the manual, is to not tow with it for the first 500 miles.
The bypass cable connects to the two cables plugged into the bottom of the security gateway. The extension cable moves that connection point below the dash so you don't have to tear up the skin on your knuckles every time you want to use Jscan. The extension cable stays plugged in all the...
There are usually no updates unless they discover a problem that needs addressed. If there was an update that needed done, you should have received a notification by mail. The dealer will happily take your money to have the tech plug in the computer and tell you that there are no recommended...
This is a warning sign that you have an electrical issue that needs attention. Most likely, it is about time to replace the Main Battery. The average life expectancy of batteries in the JT is about three years.
I would suggest you wait until the 3/36 warranty is expired. ESS is not the problem, it is just bringing to the surface an electrical issue that exists. Hopefully, it was just a set of crap batteries.
@JeepCares is mostly a liason between the customer, the dealer, and Jeep. Their power to do anything is limited. I'm sure they care, they just aren't allowed to do very much. If you want anything from them, you have to initiate contact with a private message or phone call. They rarely post...
Buy the ZAutomotive extension cable, it's about $30. It plugs into the bottom of the Security Gateway and extends the ports below the dash. It makes connecting the bypass cable real easy. The bypass cable is intended for temporary use, not for long-term installation.
I replaced it with one of these.

Do you have a block heater? If not, I would see about adding one. I would plug my Duramax in for at least four hours whenever it got around 40 degrees or colder.
I also added 2-stroke oil (0.5 Oz per gallon) to the tank when filling up to lubricate the fuel system.
The algorithm and parameters used for the JT charging system have not been made available to the public, that I'm aware of. I'm guessing that 4% down is not enough for it to up the voltage and start charging.
I read everything you posted. I don't see what the problem is. You said you started the trip with fully charged batteries and are complaining because you didn't see the system voltage read above12.8 volts. A fully charged AGM battery should read 12.8 volts at rest with no load attached. The...
Is it gas or diesel? How old are the batteries? Have you added any powered accessories?
Since the dealer has been unable to resolve the issues, and it won't start, let them see what they can find now.
If you started the trip with fully charged batteries then the 12.8 system voltage is considered normal. The alternator output is varied based on demand.
I have the MX+ that I got several years ago. If you are not in a hurry, it usually goes on sale during most of the big events (black Friday, cyber Monday, major holidays).
I got one update in my '20 Overland, and it was trying to do another one when I traded it in February, but it kept failing. I had updated the head unit software when I did a map update, and that might be why. It has not tried to do one on my '23 High Altitude yet.
The average life expectancy of batteries in the JT is about three years. They degrade quicker if not kept charged, especially as they age. I would recommend a battery maintainer if not regularly driven.
Walmart is probably the best deal if you want a local retailer. The 94R AGM is about...
The system also takes temperature into consideration when making charging decisions.
The JT has a fairly high parasitic draw, especially with a cellular equipped head unit. The computers don't turn off. The batteries start to discharge as soon as the engine shuts down.
The factory reset is just supposed to return all the user settings to factory condition. It is not supposed to change the software itself.
If the update did get lost in the process, it should just download it again in the near future.
This has been discussed in other threads. It is not allowed under California laws. You can register the vehicle, do the swap, and get by until the first Smog check is required. Once the swap is done, the vehicle cannot be legally sold or registered again in California, and technically is...
