In the LJ that is what I used. In the Gladiator, and since I’m a tiny bit “wiser” I’ll be picking up a full sized shovel and cutting it down to about a 3/4 sized shovel. Makes it easier and still saves some room.
HA!!! I’ve been in exactly the same situation as the Gold Jeep pictured above. Not sure what the stock skids look like now but the older ones on the LJ Rubicon used to be “affectionately” called a shovel. They lived up to the name. I crested more than a few dunes and the front lip of the skid...
Rock crawling in and around the SoCal area I’d say shoot for 2.5-3” and probably 38”. For extra flex/tire clearance look into highline fenders.
Reasoning: lots of off-camber on the way to rock gardens. Keeping it at a lower lift will help with stability. You’ve probably seen the rule already...
Looks good! Thanks for the heads up. Went back into Icon to do some further research there. Looks like they have a few different wheel patterns with the bead locking nubs and a rash guard. Makes my choice a little harder but gives me options. Ugh. 😂
You can find a way better speaker through BestBuy to run off the phone. I picked up a Bose Bluetooth for about half price from the open box options to use when I was driving the Pacifica home. It was too old to have the cool connectivity without spending a few hundred to get it working. I use...
You’re not wrong but for an out of the box ready to go cab this is pretty awesome. If I had the cash I’d do it. Mount the spare on one of those upright strap down carriers on the back and call it a day. This would be great if you’re an ultra light type camper with a SWAG setup as you don’t...
You all may be right. Unsure. The way it’s worded in the couple spots it’s mentioned it could go either way. Hopefully @MONOKING-Auto Parts can clarify for us.
Be sure to test this out in a public area. Like outside a shopping mall, or at the local pickle ball courts. That way you know people can hear it. The more random the comments you make over the phone the better gauge you have if you’re really being heard or not. :like:
Cool! I’m not licensed but I keep a cheaper Beofeng handheld thing around to listen to wildfire traffic. We had one pop off about 3/4 of a mile from our power company last week. Watched that one pretty closely. No power company=No Power.
