Thought I would pass it on for others that may not have known.
On the USFS interactive map site you can download gps referenced pdf maps (for Avenza etc). Seem to work better than the MVUM.
Charlies Creek Rd, Georgia Traverse.
Was quite the highway this weekend..
Only high center was the exit since someone was blocking part of it.
(stock JTR)
I almost went with this before I decided I am too old to climb that high.

If goes through the hard top so can handle an actual load.
The Gobi required the rubi rocker guards...
Watch your tongue weight,
Also, I went from a sport to Rubi for greater tow capacity but was disappointed that their did not seem to be much difference in the way it towed, still really sagged in the rear with only a 2k lb trailer. In retrospect I may have been better off with a max tow. For...
You might want to consider some gaskets under the straps. The stainless is harder than the aluminum and can wear through it over time from vibration. That’s a major problem with tubing in a hydraulic system. Looks great though.
I don't see a downside to starting with it on your truck and getting a trailer later if you decide you need it. It really does depend on your trails.
I ended up with a diamondback cover for security, seemed better than just a rack while traveling and staying in a hotel. The tent on the back...
If your going to be by yourself, you may want a setup in a cradle you can move from the front to the back. Are you going to always want to pull trough or pull back out...? (assuming you have a 2" receiver on the back)
They make extensions for the power to reach the battery from the back, you can...
This is just my opinion, but I started with a Sport, then traded for a Rubicon.
Should have kept the sport and modified it. I am sure my Rubi will have better resale but for my use, towing and trail riding, I don't like the Rubi's 4Lo (you have to be in 4Lo to engage the lockers and sway bar...
Think that's a M715 above, most of the old and new gladiators are a little underrated to toting water around. My volunteer fire department did have a M38A1 with a small water tank in the back, that was exciting to try and get stopped on the road.
Of course cheap surplus vehicles to...
Just to give you some options, I would be interested in buying your top if you find someone that is willing to sale you a hard top and not interested in a trade.
Also, installing a HT on my JL required installing some pieces in the front for the hard top to latch to. If the JT is the same and...
For security, on the HD I have at least, the rods for the hatch in the front and back extend into the track on the bed sides. Not sure if its any different on the lighter one.
A heavy duty pry bar would probably force it open but you would really have to want to get in and it would take some...
Guessing the pass was snowed in while you were at Sand Dunes? It's a fun ride with all of the creek crossings.
Since I have a similar path to you out west would you recommend the ozarks as a stop? Usually I just sprint out and back to have more time out there and the ozarks seem similar to what...
If your going straight to Moab from Sedona make sure you go through monument valley and Mexican hat.
I think you need a permit for the white rim trail at canyon lands but I believe potash road (look for the rock art) to shafer trail does not. Long canyon was a little tricky at the top for stock...
Thanks for all the input, been a long time since I needed then (20+yrs) and the options seem to be more than I remember. Ladder and diamond arraignment, different tension etc. some may even help with mud ...
I have a stock JTR, would like a set of chains for a winter trip to Colorado. Use here in NC would be rare so looking for the most economical but not the cheapest option that will keep me safe and meet requirements of local authorities.
thanks
