If you got a brand new Gladiator tomorrow, which mod goes on first?

Hey everyone — we’re EZ4X4. We make accessories for Jeeps, and we’ve been debating this internally.

Say you wake up tomorrow with a completely stock Gladiator in the driveway. What’s the very first mod you install before anything else?

What’s your non-negotiable upgrade?

Could be practical, cosmetic, off-road, comfort — anything. No wrong answers.

Curious to hear everyone’s picks.

Dead pedal. I put mine on our new Mojave before I even drove it off the dealer lot!
A few months ago I sold my built 22 JTR and bought a stock 23 JTRD. It was almost 1,500 away and I flew to get it so there wasn't much I could take with me. The thing I missed the most on the drive home was the dead pedal.

That’s like telling you what I would do with the money from the lotto if I won.

Why don’t you dm me for my address and then put a new Gladiator in my driveway and then we could follow the build of it on here? LOL

Wow, before even driving it off the lot? That’s dedication! A dead pedal really does make a huge difference in comfort, especially on longer drives. Did you go with a specific brand or make your own?

It's on its 3rd set of shocks and springs. All done by myself in my garage. A fun learning experience. Mine is modded way more than I need. I could have done nothing and just bought a Bronco for a better ride. But now I am married to this thing.

It’s from DV8 - really high quality. I was trading in a Willys Gladiator, so I just brought the right sized socket with me when we went to pick up the Mojave, and swapped it in the lot before driving off!

I would order a Mojave X with every option.
35x10.5 Tires, Rokblokz Flaps, Bumper (TBD), Winch. I do have the Cover King carpet head liner and the Bed Rug, those are another two must haves for me.

Then try harder to find a white aluminum top vs the ARE Canopy. If money was really no object I'd lean toward a Project M Camper. 😳

I've never seen the need for a dead pedal? Guess I need sit in one that has one and see what I am missing! : )

Tonneau cover, Rock Rail steps, and grab handles.
Great list! Grab handles are definitely a must-have, and rock rail steps offer that perfect mix of protection and convenience. A tonneau cover is so practical too. Sounds like you've got the essentials covered right out of the gate!

The steps and grab handles also made the wife happy, as it made it easier for her to get in and out of the Jeep. ;)

Now that's a dream build right there! The Pentastar gets the job done but nobody's ever complained about more power. What are you actually running on yours right now?
Stock 3.6
It’s fine but a V8 would be more fun. If I got a free JT I could justify the cost
Actual first upgrade would be a phone holder

For me it would be tonneau cover, steps, dead pedal, mud flaps, and floor mats.
