Did your front end drop at all? If so, how much did it drop? I have a JTR and looking to replace my factory plastic bumper with a factory steel stubby bumper. I am wondering if this will cause my front end to drop at all?

For the search nazis, I searched already and couldn’t find any definite info so looking for specific information. Thank you.

go stack up some weight on the existing front bumper and see what happens. I would guestimate 50lbs should cover most steel front bumpers as a worst case weight.

if it does it's completely imperceptible to the eye. you may be able to measure if you're super careful but you won't see it. you're more likely to feel it when driving but that's just because you have a light plastic one now.

I added the Mopar steel bumper and new skip plate to my JTR with a 2" Mopar lift and I cannot tell by looking at it. I had my son sit on the bumper before the install since he weighs around the weight difference and the front end didn't move.

I can't say for the Mopar but I went from plastic to RR Arcus bumper and skid plate and there was no noticeable change in look or driving. When I added Winch and skid plate then there was a bit of added rake I think and the weight is noticeable with driving and handling at first. Not sure if you intend to add winch

I replaced both of my plastic wonders (front + rear) with the OEM steel Rubi bumpers (+ front steel skidplate) - didn't notice any drop at all. 2020 Sport. With Rubi suspension I doubt you would notice any change.

I would actually think you might notice it more on a Rubi than a Sport. From what I gather in the forums here the Rubi suspension is softer than the Sport suspension.

Rubicon springs under the front of my truck.
I added the steel bumper, skid plate and winch. Dropped the front end .5" by measure.
I could tell by looking so put Daystar .75" spacers under to bring it back up.
That was on Rubicon springs.
Granted, it would have likely been less than .5" with bumper alone - but the bumper shipping weight was over 80 pounds and when the delivery guy unloaded it he asked "what the hell is in this box??" as he was having trouble dragging it to the back of his truck.
He was surprised that small box weighed that much.
I had trouble lifting it myself when assembled. With the "wings" off it was doable but still not light. So I installed it short and bolted the ends on after it was installed.
Then the skid plate - another 25 pounds????
In any case, I figure bumper and skid plate was an easy 100 pounds, and the winch something like 80 pounds?

Anyway, .5" drop all total. I'd bet on .25 drop without the winch - on Rubicon springs.
Using it as a stubby I can't see any way it would drop it even .25" - maybe .15 - .2" tops - if that.
