Ive read through several threads on this. I just purchased this Rough Country spacer kit for my Overland. Per all of the install videos and RC what is in the box is all that is needed and after reading hundreds of reviews Most are extremely happy with the results. My main concern is are issues with Death wobble, vibration at high speeds etc.? I believe doing this throws the front axle slightly off center? Is anyone reading this running this setup and with or without any issues as is with only what comes in this $100 kit?

Follow the instructions, or if you arent comfortable with them, find instructions from another brand.

As long as you loosen everything (track bar, control arms at both ends) and retighten it all WITH ALL 4 WHEELS ON THE GROUND AFTER THE LIFT, you should be fine. I just did my 1.5 teraflex, my only issue now is my axle is pushed to the driver side due to the stock track bar not being long enough. It has not affected my ride/drive quality at all, it is only noticeable visually and when measured (around 1/2" off)

If you want, it would be prudent to look into an aftermarket track bar and the Mopar control arms that come on their lift. if memory serves, the control arms are <$150 total and are worth it to fix the caster.

I Did the 1.5 Tereflex on my last JT. With that one i had a slight vibration above 65 MPH. Now going with the 2.5" RC just has me a little nervous.

Yes, when torquing all the suspension bolts down, you want the weight of the vehicle on the axles. You can do this either with all 4 tires on the ground, or jackstands under the axles. As long as the suspension is at ride height and the axles aren't "drooping" your good.

The RC kit is a bare bones kit. It will come with everything necessary, but not necessarily everything you may want. It will ride okay, but there will be room for improvement. Aftermarket shocks, adjustable lower control arms or control arm drop brackets, adjustable track bars, ect... would all improve the ride, but not necessarily required to get you back on the road.

Raising your Jeep 2.5", whether it be with spacers or springs, will off-set the axle and change the caster.

Get a track bar or bracket and also get some control arm alignment brackets so you can recenter the axle and put some caster back in. This will go a long way in preventing the wobble.

Maybe this is where i made my mistake when I installed the 1.5 Tereflex on my last JT. I torqued everything before landing the front back to the ground. No major issues but some Vibration at 65 mph and over. Yes i do only plan on installing what's in the box with the 2.5" RC Spacer kit for now. Just want to make sure I get it right with no issues! I appreciate everyone's feedback! Hoping to hear from someone that has done the same.

So with an adjustable trac bar, can you make the adjustment once its installed or before you install it? Looking at getting one.

In my experience the spacer kit will put you at the limits of your stock track bar and control arms. I didn’t loosen either one when I did my2.5” leveling before I went to 4.5” and I had no driveability issues. I think my steering wheel was off maybe a few degrees which was a 5 minute fix to put it back. Also did the rough country 2” front and rear on my wife’s JLU and never loosened any of those components.

When I leveled my Overlander, it had factory shocks and springs, which are geared towards on road driving. I felt literally no change other than I sat up a little higher in the cab. Nothing else changed.

As stated before, I didn’t loosen the track bar or the control arms on both Jeeps when I went to spacers in them. Both Jeeps were low mileage and all components were in good shape. My JT was at 4000 miles when I leveled and went to 37s, and 12000 miles when I did my lift. Not sure what my wife’s was at but her JLU is a 2018 with only 34k miles so it couldn’t have been that bad. A well used suspension might be easier to move around. I was actually kind of perplexed when I had to loosen the control arms for my 4.5” lift ? I think I loosened all four lowers, but only one upper when I went up 4.5”. I also didn’t loosen the rear track bar when I added 3” spacers back there as well. The only reason I had to remove the rear track bar was when I replaced it with a Clayton bar to make room for my spare tire.

Do one side at a time leaving the tire on and on the ground on the opposite side and you might not have to take the trackbar bolt out.

it’s so easy to do!

That's what id did when I installed 1.5 Tereflex level on my last JT. The bad part about that was as I dropped and raised the side I was working on it was shifting my JT from side to side rocking it a little bit on my jack stands! Was a little nerve racking!

So what did you loosen to install the 2.5" spacers? Seems like it would be hard to get enough drop in the axle to get this and the spring back in place? And did you do one side at time leaving the wheel on one side at all times?
