First, I'll introduce myself. Earlier this year I was looking hard at a Gladiator but ended up going with a used Rebel Quad Cab instead. After seeing that I can basically trade in my Rebel for what I paid on it I'm going to get the Gladiator I wanted in the first place.

I can't buy until next month because we're buying a house lenders frown on you buying vehicles during a house buying process :CWL:

I've already talked to my dealer about possibly ordering a 2021 Willys Sport Gladiator but before do you all think there are going to be any good deals on the 2020s when the 21s come out? I know I won't be able to get a Willys but since it's going to get lifted and tires anyway what's the difference at the end of the day?

I bought my gladiator a week before applying for home refinance. No problems with buying a car while applying for a mortgage for me.

Refinance is different usually I think. The lender told me "no big purchases"

Well I don’t know if they offer a Willy’s edition in the Gladiator. But if you are going to be modifying it most in here would probably agree that a sport with the Max Tow package is a great foundation to start from. This of course depends largely on what you are planning to do with it and what mods you are talking about. As for discounts, Jeep doesn’t really offer huge rebates like you see on other makes and models but if you can catch an employee pricing which is about the best I have seen on a Jeep you will be in great shape. The size of the deal on the various models certainly depends on stock remaining and what the following model year is bringing new to the table. Since this is a first year for the Gladiator there are not likely to be any significant model changes so discounts probably would not be better than what we have seen so far which is employee pricing.

Thanks

I talked to the dealer today and both of the rumored Willys packages are indeed happening. But everything else what you're saying looks to be what's going on when it comes to rebates and stuff.

I'll probably just order it

I don't think employee pricing is coming back for 2020 model year (just a guess).

Getting a deal for a 2020 still on dealer lot may be a better option.

I traded a JKU WW when I bought my JT. WW is a nice package, aka, the poor man's Rubicon. If you are intent on mods, I agree with Shootist. Start with a max tow and go from there.

I did not start out looking for a Rubicon, but knew if I got a Sport I would want tires, wheels, rock rails etc.. etc... The Rubicon had all of that standard and after the math the price difference was only about 4K. The Rubicon came with the extra features as well. All depends on what mods you intend to do and what they would cost.

I would assume there will be good pricing at the end of the year on Rubicons and some dealers will make deals any time of year.

It mainly just depends on how well they hit their manufacturing/sales predictions. Every car company starts with a target of how many of each they will sell. They obviously whiffed a bit on the Overland since there is still a discount on them though not what it was in June/July. Hard to say if there will be any other offers on other models just yet. Once they finish the 2020 Mojave production runs they will re-tool the lines for the 2021 MY. Once they start delivering 2021‘s any remaining 2020’s will get some incentive but it may not be much. One thing I noticed about Jeep is how they stagger production on the models. I am not sure this is an artifact of this odd year we have had or if it is typical since this is my first Jeep but it is a pretty good way to go about it. It is good for Jeep owners, potential buyers and the company because nothing says destroy resale like a huge incentive plan. After all, who wants to buy that 1-2 year old vehicle when they can get an end of year close out that is brand new for near the same amount?

If you are ordering one you will be able to get a better deal. It is a guaranteed sale for the dealership before the vehicle gets there and it is much cheaper for them to process it. Look in the vendor section and see if you can find a preferred dealership and order your Gladiator from them. Tri-City in Eden, NC is one and they offer them under invoice for ones that are ordered.

It needs to be in my area though, correct?
