I've noticed for a couple of years that when the Jeep is cold, when I pull out of my driveway (Rock) and the suspension does some small wiggles, I hear a crunchy sound that I think is coming from the wheel/suspension area.
When it is nice and warm (Like 70+ ) I don't hear it.
On the highway, it is smooth, and no noises that I can hear.

Mods:
35" 12.5 wide tires.
1/2" spacers
2.5" lift kit.
Apex AutoLYNX Sway Bar Disconnects
Metal Cloak Fender wells, and Fenders
I think that is all that might affect the suspension.

Abuse:
I have about 90-100 hours of mountain trail time on Jeep Jamborees since I got it. (Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina) Usually level 5-7 trails, depending on advice from the trail guides.

No wrecks, fender benders etc. (Lot's of aftermarket tree branch provided pinstriping)

Thanks for any idea's what this might be.

Mine does as well, I believe its due to the rubber on the shocks being cold.

I found around 40 degrees or less the creaking comes from the rubber exhaust hanger bushings. If I remember correctly there are 3 that run along the exhaust on the passenger side. Once the exhaust warms up it stops. I believe there are other posts about this. I sprayed some lub and it stopped it last winter but it has come back this winter. It will make you think its rear suspension issues, but its the exhaust brackets twisting as the vehicle turns or goes over a bump. Hope this helps.
