I am having all kinds of Radio issues with my 2020 Gladiator Rubicon. Sometimes the backup camera sticks on for a few extra minutes them the radio crashes. The radio will randomly restart while driving sometimes 2-3 times in a 30-50km drive. To prove it to my dealer they asked me to try and capture a video of this happening which I did. I was told by my dealer that Chrysler hopes to have an update for the radio sometime this year!!!! @JeepCares

I have a sport s and I can not turn the radio volume up, down or off when in reverse. Been like that since I got it new in 2019.

I had the same problems. Dealer replaced my radio head unit. I'm now on my second radio with all the same issues.

The most annoying one is when the radio dings that one of my favorites is on, when I hit the indicator, it tells me "none of your favorites are on." That happens A LOT. it'll work fine, then the list will disappear and the indicator won't work right until I've stopped and restarted.

Hi there! I am also having the same exact issue. I was told by the dealer it's a software issue, and jeep is working on a patch, but the dealer has no timeframe for a fix. So for now my jeep gladiator at 85 miles has no backup camera ... I guess! I did open a case with Jeep Cares, they were nice, but I am hopeful Jeep sees this and understands the safety issue selling new cars that have no backup camera.

I have the same issues. My radio locks up and resets constantly. The Sirius "favorites" does not work also. It will alert you an artist or song is on air but will not be there when you go to view the list. I have been working with my dealership and FCA for I would guess 8 months or so. I am on my 4th radio. No one can answer my questions and the FCA rep I am dealing with just stumbles and can't explain anything to me. I ask for answers and get the lame responses every time I talk to him. I am not sure what is going on and have no indication that FCA engineers know what's going on either. Its a shame you pay this sort of money for these radios that they have used before and they have quirks to them now. Good luck getting it fixed and if you find anything out please let us all know. There are many of us on here that are experiencing the same issues.

I have read on other forums of this issue also. Its not specific to the Gladiator or Jeep. Its whatever this radio is used in. I have seen Rams, Durango's, Chargers, Challengers and other Jeep vehicles chime in on forums about this issue. There is a thread over on the Wrangler forums that has 15 pages + of people chiming in on this issue. I sent a link to the forum and have sent numerous videos and photos of the problem we are all experiencing to Jeep.

I recently had the issue of the backup camera not coming on when in reverse. Everything else worked. I took it to the dealership for other issues and mentioned this, and they said that an over the air update was expected "soon" for this.

My wife had to have her 8.4 replaced last fall (just before she traded her 2018 in on a 2021) - radio nav and other issues. Dealer said "we see a lot of these, it will take a few weeks to get one".
My son called me last week - 8.4 in his Jeep went funky - on, off, blank, then back again, etc. - took it to a dealer - yup, another radio failure, we'll replace it for you. He had extended warranty - the radio otherwise would have cost him $1,000 - he paid 100 deductible.
So that's 2 in just our family and both times, dealers immediately said "bad radio" and hinted "we see a number of these" - never balked about updates, or not being a bad radio, etc. - jumped right into "bad radio, we'll replace it".

I had the same issue where my 8.4" radio would randomly restart. The backup camera would freeze and cause a restart. Also had a blue screen. There was an update a couple months ago that could be downloaded by your dealer to a flash drive and installed. It has taken care of the problem for me so far.

I'll bet a big mac none of these are "update" issues but are radio issues. Good to check for updates, but so far nothing I've seen looks like an update would take care of it.
