2021 JTRD Gladiator Rubicon Diesel - Dead battery

Hey all,

I have a 2021 Jeep Gladiator Diesel

I have an appointment to take it in for warranty work but I dont drive it often and my buddy left it in drive when he shut it off. Leaving it in drive and turning off the car apparently drains the battery - it was so dead that it was registering 3V on my Schumacher battery tender, 30a/100a jump device.

I have it on 30a charge and have tried 100a booster (for a jump) and have had zero luck getting it started. After 5 hours on 30a it registers at 5v now. After an unsuccessful 100a boost it registered 7-8v.

any tips to get this thing running for tomorrow morning so i can get it to the dealer?

If i need to replace the batteray - any good advice on brands and sizes? Can the JTRD accept an oversized battery? Can i go up in size or am i forced to stay in the same size factor.

The largest size the tray will accept is a 94R (H7). You can get one at Walmart for about $175 with a four year warranty. It is unlikely that the batteries will recover from being drained.

Thank you. I appreciate the quick response. I came up with this e same choices, I was hoping I could go a little bigger.

Now I gotta figure out how to heft the battery into the engine bay with a bad back

i just did mine yesterday. if you go to walmart dont expect to find the H7 in 850CCA. even though the website shows the H7 850CCA in stock the part number is for the 800CCA version. checked 6 stores in colorado
