The Gladiator is a Jeep, the Colorado is not, that is all that matters to me, if I want a Jeep I buy a Jeep.

Sorry. I still JD Power ratings are useless.
That’s fine, it’s one source. Jeep has perennially scraped the bottom of the barrel from every valid source for decades. I’m it even talking shit. I love Jeeps and keep buying them, but I know when I buy it I’m going to have problems.

You're not wrong about Jeep, but I don't think GM is any better. GM is typically the recall champion and number one for greatest depreciation.

Agreed. Take it from a tech that worked for GM at a dealer for 30 years.

Their recalls are stupid though. I had one because I had pages missing from my owners manual about how to operate my trailer brake controls. They’re so paranoid about law suits. Their trucks hold their value fine. Their cars not so much. Actually, their full sized SUVs hold their value really well.

Every tech I’ve ever known, and I have had a lot of tech friends over the years, all think the brand they work for is junk and wouldn’t buy one. It makes sense because y’all are constantly doing warranty work and repairs. The only brand that stands out as worse is Jag/Land Rover. Way worse actually. That goes for everything from Jeeps to Hondas to GM, Ford etc etc

Not me. I drove and enjoyed nothing but GM's for decades. Then I witnessed the demise of the product and the support firsthand. After retirement I realized brand loyalty was not in my better interest and test drove a Ram 1500. The rest is Mopar history.

All three of the American full sized trucks are nice and also reliable and long lasting. You just have to pick your preference. For the longest time the GM trucks handled better and had better steering so I preferred them. However, when Dodge re-designed the ram for 2009 and put the rear coil springs on it, it now drives the best. The GM trucks still drive great. I always thought F-150s drove like trash in comparison, but when they went to aluminum bodies in like 2014 they made a big leap forward and aren’t bad now.

My first new Ram was a 2009. Yes, a very well-designed truck that blew away my 2008 Silverado in every category. Also had a 2016 Ram. Then there was my 2020 Ram. The DT was a complete game changer. Wow.

I had an ‘08 Silverado. It was a nice truck. LT2 Z71, but i wished I waited for the 09 for the 6 speed auto and the combination I had of the Z71 pkg with the tow patient had it did have a stiff ride from the rear. It handled like a sports car though. It was weird how well I handled.

long story short, I can see how the ‘09 Ram was a leap forward for you.

And yet Chrysler is close to the bottom, even though the charger /challenger share the same platform as the 300, and dodge is so much farther up. Ram is way lower than jeep even though the powertrain are the same. Gmc and Chevy are so far apart even though their vehicles are functionally identical. Interesting.
The fact that Toyota and Lexus and Honda and Acura are in dead heats respectively makes sense, though.
The engine might be the same between Ram and Jeep, but the trans isn’t especially the MT in the Jeep. Don’t know about the rest of the driveline.

The auto is the same as the ram (and actually the charger, challenger and 300 too).

Then given the low ranking for RAM, it must be electrical, body?
