I'm looking at two Rubicons with the FarOut EcoDiesel packages- one sarge, the other white. On the passenger side one has the leather dash and the other has the plastic dash. Was there a cutover date on when the change was made? Or is this an option? They are identical with all the other features. Just wondering if one was manufactured earlier. I'm looking for negotiating power here. ;)

There is no negotiating power for something like that. You get what the factory installs, which varies with color, seating, and any other possible interior variations.

The door sticker will show the manufacture date, but I doubt that will help any. Pick the one you like the best.

Does one have leather seats and the other not? That’s usually what delineates the two dashes.

With discounts currently at 20% off of MSRP, the dealer would probably get a laugh out of someone coming to them with that as a reason for an additional price reduction. I had that "leather" dash on the High Altitude I had. I actually like the red on the Rubicon that I traded the HA for quite a bit more. Looked cleaner without the stitching and added some color into an otherwise dark and depressing all black interior........As has been said, get the one that speaks to you. If the sarge has the tan leather, 100% go with the sarge over the white tho........

I'm not trying to negotiate on based on the dash, but more on how long the vehicle has been out. They have all the same features, sarge has black interior, which would typically have the red dash, right- it has the leather dash. the white has the tan interior with the plastic grey dash. I'm just trying to determine if one is older than the other, which may have more room.
And let the dealer laugh. I've seen the same Jeeps at other dealerships further away with bigger discounts.
Not my first rodeo shopping nationwide. And f*ck yes I'm asking for a lower price. I saved a years worth of payments with my JK by asking if they price matched- And if this place won't give me the price I'm looking for? I'll fly anywhere to get the new one. Nothing wrong with a road trip in my nice new gladiator. I also have financing lined up ahead of time, so all I have to do is walk in and sign some paperwork- and not listen to the upsell of undercoating and bs features. The interwebs are your friend. Use them accordingly. (haha)

If you give the vins someone, I believe someone can probably pull actual build dates

So, you could also have a far out sarge green with brown leather seats and a gray dash…. ???

Think this is the one you are talking about--Cargurus has it being at that dealer for 45 days. All of the Far Out gladiators are relatively new on the lots compared to the other 2023 models. This one looks really sharp with the tan interior(i don't know what they don't advertise it as having it because it does seem desirable), but if your only concerns are Rubicon, diesel and price and don't care at all about options or colors, get on a plane and find that deal........good luck!!

I’ve got a few bookmarked with the aux switches and the outlet in the back. I think leather seats are standard on that FarOut package. We all know the gorilla glass is worthless, and speaking from experience the new headliner/insulation kit is crap- it keeps falling off our JLRU. And Tyler is closer than the one I have saved in Idaho, but like I said, I’m up for a road trip!!

To determine when the Jeep in question was built, open the driver's door and look at the VIN sticker attached to the body. You'll see an entry that says MDH followed by a six digit number -- that is when the vehicle was built. MDH stands for month/day/hour with the digits following being in the format MM/DD/HH. For example, if you see MDH 120316 on the VIN sticker then the Jeep was built on the 3rd of December at 4PM.

Good deal! I’ll ask to have them take pix and send.
Did they change the dash at some point in the year? From the plastic to the leather?

I haven't a clue as to dash changes or any logic/timing behind them.

Re--the dash.........I would put money on it being the saddle seat option. The tan seats got white stitching and a grey dash instead of the much, much more common red stitching/red dash. All of the stitching in the leather on the black seat optioned trucks is red. Considering that the saddle seats are so rare, it probably didn't make sense to do that dash section with white stitching considering they were already trying to burn through old parts/inventory with the '23s......

The white JT is not equipped with the FarOut package. All the FO’s have black leather interior with the leather covered dash panels (similar to the Launch Editions). I much prefer the more rare saddle interior as well.
