I just purchased a 2024 Nighthawk with the standard audio and it is the worst sounding stereo of any vehicle I have had since the 1985 Honda civic I drove in school. Honestly, it might have had a better base stereo than this Gladiator. Has anyone tried the Kicker HS10 with the Stock speakers and how did it sound? I am hesitant to change the speakers as everything I see says that they are all 8 Ohm and the replacements outside of the TA kit are 4 Ohm. I really hate to take a chance on damaging the head unit on a brand new truck. Any input, ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

So I wound up buying the Terra Acoustics front soundstage speakers and the Kicker HS10 hideaway sub from Trail Seven behind the seat. I was thinking this would pacify me until the aftermarket systems catch up to the changes in the 2024 and while I save money for a complete system. Honestly this combination far exceeded my expectations. For roughly 600 bucks and about 45 minutes of my time I am very happy with the results. It sounds really good across a wide variety of music. It is very comparable to if not better than some of the earlier ones I drove with the Alpine system. I was thinking about upgrading the soundbar speakers but I don’t think it will make it any better as they now seem to be kind of a mid range filler. I meant to take pics and document everything along the way but lost focus in my excitement. If you have a 2024 with the base audio system this an easy and fairly inexpensive way to get good tunes.

The Kicker HS10 is a powered 10 inch sub that fits in the tray behind the seat. It has the sub and amp together in the box. This thing will not shake the ground but it does fill out the sound really well.

I dont need it to shake the Jeep. I just want a premium sounding system with an easy install. It sounds like this kicker hideaway sub will be it.

I'm not an expert on car audio ; however, I can work on cars. How hard was the install for the sub. Did you catch power from inside the jeep or did you have to run a power line all the way into the engine bay ?

Install for the sub was pretty easy as far as car audio goes. I tapped into the speaker wires in the passenger side pillar. The power wire ran up the driver side under the trim and passed through a grommett in the firewall that would have been used for the clutch. You pull the grommett and drill a 1/4” hole in it for the power wire. It will then run along the back of the engine compartment to the battery. In total it might take 45 minutes. Trail Seven has an excellent install video that shows every step and doesn’t leave anything out.
