Hi there,

I am looking at purchasing a 2025 Gladiator Rubicon X. I would have to travel to go get it. Just curious on what folks thoughts are on this deal and if I should negotiate a bit more? To give background I was looking to get $18500 for my trade. As you can see on the sheet they only wanna give me $17,000. To give everyone the whole picture. There is a small tear on the driver seat and a a ding on the passenger side door. Which I did send them pictures of. I feel like this isn't a great deal, but then again it's been a minute since I've purchased a vehicle. Any insights or thoughts? View attachment Offer.pdf

I would need more information on what you are trading, e.g. year, miles, condition, etc.
I'm not sure why you are being charged for window tint, I thought all Rubicons came with tinted glass (mine did, 2023 Rubicon). The bed liner charge is pretty consistent with what I have seen if the Rubicon didn't come with one. I did a Herculiner Pro in my bed, it's the updated catalyzed liner, about $120 for the kit and an afternoons work. From what I've seen online, the selling price of the Rubicon is about right, a little high in my opinion but the 2025 Gladiators are selling well off the dealer lots.

Thank you for the reply. I am selling a 2015 Toyota 4Runner SR5 w/ 128,767mi on it. It's in good condition. Mechanically sound. I actually have every maintenance record since I purchased the vehicle brand new.

Around here (CT), that would be a great deal. I would try to get them up on the trade-in though.

Thanks for the reply. You're absolutely right. I've been going back and forth for the longest time on getting a Jeep but a drove one about a week ago for a trip. I loved it. It was just FUN!

I ran your vehicle as a base SR5 with standard options and silver as the color for Albuquerque on Kelly Blue Book. I tried Edmunds but it wanted a VIN that I didn't have, however you could easily get that information. Keep in mind that KBB is owned by the dealers association. Average trade is $17,860. I don't know that this is much of a guide but it is information. The dealer will also have lot fees to get your vehicle ready to sell (usually $500 to $1000) and they have to make money to keep the dealership going. I'm not trying to tell you what great people the dealers are, I've certainly had my share of battles and BS from them and walked away from several when we couldn't come to terms and I wouldn't jump at their "excellent and more than fair" offers. Their $17,000 does not appear to be out of line but does strike me as low. Someone in the forum might know what the dealer holdbacks are to provide insight into how much of their $7000+ discount is covered by the factory and how much more room to move is available to the dealer. Good luck with whatever you decide. I can tell you that my Gladiator has 34,000 absolutely trouble free miles and is quite the workhorse (2023 Rubicon w/manual transmission).

Thanks for the info. I was doing that this morning actually and that seems to be pretty standard out here in ABQ for $17300-$17600 when From CarMax to Carvana and AutoNation. That's great to hear about your Rubi!

2015 T4R is a great vehicle.. and with less than 130k,, thats a 17-19k ride all day long, especially since youve owned since New! Have you tried FB marketplace?
considering you and the Dealer are only $1500 apart, accepting 17k will probably offset the savings you will get in Taxes.

I just bought a used 2024 JT but going to try and Sell my Wrangler on FBMP so i can get lot more than what the Dealers were offering. We’ll see how that works out.

I think i might try that this week. Take some time sprucing it up and throwing it up on FB. I have some add ons that hopefully people will appreciate. I got an Spod, LightForce lights stealth behind the grill set up. Nothing too crazy, but tasteful upgrades I would say. Congrats on the new JT! Hopefully I'll be joining y'all soon.

.. there should be more discounts if you’re buy a New 2025. Have you done a large search area using Edmunds or Cars.com?

I think you should have some good luck on FB mp.. i almost went back to a T4R instead of a JT because they run forever with minimal maintenance, but having a pickup bed won out..

Tell them you want 18k and if they don’t agree leave, then just wait for their call in a few days. They will have a paint less dent guy come and pop out the ding and a mobile interior guy come sew up the seat. After an oil change and crappy detail they’ll throw it on the lot for 22k. I really doubt they’d want to lose out on the sale of a 2025 now over $1,000. I worked for a dealer for the last 6 years and the shit they traded for absurd amounts money is unbelievable.

You might be a little short on trade value, if the trade has just what you described with low (10k/yr) mileage. But with the $16,411 total discount up front, with attending tax breaks? I see a very fair deal. Depending how far a drive you have to get to the dealership. To find a Rubicon X for under $50k? Is a good deal. I thought I did good at $35,400 for new 2024 Sport S with every option available but LED headlights and any tow package.

Thanks for the reply. I am going to try this today with a dealership. They have a Rubicon, but no the Rubicon X but the price is a bit less and I dont really need the leather seats and power. The only thing I really want is the Steel front bumper, which with the savings on price I might just by myself and put on. I appreciate the insight into how they're going to flip my vehicle. I have all of my maintenance records. Does that matter at all to them? I know for private sale it can be helpful.

Let me just add my thoughts when it comes to trade-ins. Forget what the dealer is offering for your trade. Instead, look at the out the door price on whatever you are purchasing and use that for comparison. More for this, less for that, tax savings on the trade, etc.

Work off the out the door price. Let the dealer figure out how they get there.
