Hello. I purchased a 2022 Overland almost 2 weeks ago. I took it back to CarMax service center for a really bad sway or skipping feeling when I'm on rough road. Carmax drove it around and could not feel the sway but inspected and found that the rear shocks are installed upside down so those are being replaced and may very well solve the issue completely. There is a front lift kit installed and Carmax said they don't usually sell vehicles with lifts so either remove it and they can replace sway bar or leave and they will just focus on the rear shocks. I just want to sound like I know what I'm talking about when I go back in. Doesn't matter the speed when I hit an area of rough road, specifically a bridge I travel daily, I get the normal bumps but then it feels like the back end is skidding/sliding/swaying. It's not normal yet I don't know how to properly describe that. I feel like the back end is too light but have no mechanical experience to justify why I think that, it's just how it feels when it sways. I also feel like maybe if I put bigger tires it would help but the only reason I think that is because I had a work box truck that wobbled horribly, the back was too heavy and when we switched to heavy duty tires (semi type) it fixed the problem. So my thinking is maybe its the same here just opposite weight distribution.
I'm looking for information to take back to them. When I left the dealership a few days ago in a loaner they said "might be the Jeep death wobble, if that's the case there really is no fix" and that doesn't sound right.
