I want to upgrade the stock 245/75/R17 that came on my 2022 Sport with max tow package. To keep my 17 inch wheels am looking at either 285 or 295/70/R17. Daily driver, we tow our teardrop, very light off road. Seems I’ve read this can be done without any rub or leveling/lift kits. Could I go bigger? Any other recommendations or suggestions?

Look on your local FB marketplace and find some Rubicon take-off P285/70/17 BFG KO2. Around me they are all over the for sale places, cheap. They will fit with no issues outside of adjusting/correcting your speedo with some sort of programmer.

I mean I did 37s on an overland model with just a 2” level up front, so yeah I’d say you’re good there. 285 is a much more popular size than 295. That being said cost should be a lot better on the 285s. The factory Wildpeak AT3 is an easily obtainable tire that should last quite a while.
