Both pics have the Jeep with 3" AEV lift and 35" Mickey Thompson tires. The top pic shows you can see the ass up a bit. It's actually worse than the pic shows because I had 5 wheels and tires in the back.

This is due to the heavy duty springs you get with the 3" vs the 2.5". Bottom pic is from this weekend when back was loaded up for several days at the beach (sorry for the IG tags).

No problem, always glad to help brother.

That was my biggest fear, looking like some chicken legs on the Mojave. What gears were you looking to put on? (Just curious as I might be going up to 37s and might need that regear as well, due to all the weight right now).

If you need some more pics, I can take some with a measuring tape to give you an idea of the fender well gap, and height from top to bottom, just to give a better idea.
5.13 was suggested with 38's. I did a quick measurement, and my garage clearance only provides for about a max of 5 additional inches.

The other thing to consider is that a 38 will not fit under the bed so then bed space becomes an issue. I am going to call Jerry back and discuss a few more things i.e. a cap...

Iirc, there are some threads of people saying you can carry a 38 if you are aired down. So, presuming you have some kind of on board air option, you could keep the spare at like 12 and fit it.

There is this option.

35x11.5R17's (Toyo ATIII's) on Method Beadlocks. Clayton 2.5+ Overland lift. Netting over 3' up front and close to 3" in the rear. The combo ended up being just about perfect for me. No real need for 37's or 3.5' lift. I'm not pretending this is a rock crawler :sun: - just wanted some extra peace of mind in the AZ/UT rocks.

Looks great. It sounds like we are similar in that I wanted a bit more clearance for the same reasons. Combined with the fact I have some limitations in the garage on height this seems like a logical combo. I guess the bonus is no need for a regear which would be needed for the larger\heavier tires.

What shocks did you use?

Cheers

Yeah, that sounds about right. While I rubbed occasionally when stock, I haven't come close to rubbing the undercarriage after the lift.

Keep in mind that the Clayton 2.5" Overland + lift leaves the vehicle sitting HIGHER than 2.5 inches. I'd guess around 3.5 up front with no lift / winch - and although I have a winch and steel bumper, my lift came in around 3" up front. A hair under that in the rear.) Another added benefit on the 2.5" over a 3.5" lift - you'll have no need to address new drive shafts like you would with a 3.5" or higher.

I also put Rancho skids on the Diffs, and even those have not seen rock scrapes yet. My ASFIR skids have remained un-scraped as well, although they both will no doubt get hammered in the future. Although not incredibly technical (3/6 - Trails Offroad), I did all the hard lines on Broken Arrow in Sedona with no rubs. So overall.....very happy with the results, and no need (for me) for a 3.5" since I went Clayton.

When choosing shocks, I opted for their high end (which is not REALLY high end, but instead more of a high end of mid-grade consumer shocks) -- the Falcon SP2 3.3 2-3" JT Shocks. Really liking them as well as the Falcon adjustable steering stabilizer.

BTW, LOL, I took it back for a repair and re-torquing everything after a 500+ mile break-in, and the local shops expert wheeler guy took it out on their test trails and got it articulating to the point of being only on ( barely) two wheels, and he mentioned that he hasn't see a Gladiator ever articulate this well. It's more than enough for me. LOL

Sweet rig!

If you ever swing by Flagstaff, let me know. I’m always down to go wheeling!

Thanks Xavi! I'm not far. As a matter of fact, that first pic above was on the Mogollon Rim S of Flag, and N of Sedona......a couple of weeks ago right after a raging microburst. I will keep your offer in mind. Where do you normally go wheeling? I'm familiar with the plateau up around Williams / Sycamore, and S of Sycamore Cyn....

Good point on the drive shaft. I do plan on upgrading at least the front bumper since the factory scraped a few times on Hells Revenge. The additional protection for DIFFs and anything else that needs protection.

Thanks for all the additional information and great photo.

Stripped the Mojave, and went a different route.

Added the 23’ 20th Anniversary Grille.
