If you’re new to Wolfbox or just looking for the best way to install your dash cam, we’ve got you covered! Here are the three most popular methods to get your Wolfbox dash cam up and running. Each has its pros and cons, so you can choose the one that fits your needs best.

Rubber Strap Installation

This is the simplest and quickest way to set up your dash cam. Using the rubber straps included in your package, you can secure the dash cam directly onto your car’s original rearview mirror. It’s straightforward and requires no extra tools, making it perfect for beginners. However, some users find this method a bit bulky, as the dash cam sits on top of the original mirror, adding some extra thickness.

OEM Bracket Installation

For those who prefer a sleeker and more integrated look, the OEM bracket is the way to go. This option requires purchasing the Wolfbox OEM bracket separately. You’ll need to remove your car’s original rearview mirror and its supporting bracket, then replace it with the Wolfbox bracket. While it’s slightly more time-consuming to set up, the end result is worth the effort. The dash cam will look like it was part of your car’s original design!

Center Console Base Bracket Installation

This method is different from the traditional dash cam placement. Instead of attaching the dash cam to the upper windshield area, you can mount it on your car’s dashboard using a dedicated stand. This gives you more flexibility in positioning and keeps the windshield clear, but it may take some time to adjust the angle for the best recording view. If you want a distinctive setup or have a unique windshield design, this could be the option for you.

I had no idea the console bracket stand existed. Can you mount it there with the screw in backing plate or does it have to be on the rubber straps? I’d be worried about theft on just the rubber straps. It’s a cool option that has been discussed a few times throughout the forum.

Normally, you should use the rubber strap. But you may DIY a little and drive the screws.

I may be up for that. Need to look into a top mount for the Garmin first and figure out some dimensions with what I have installed now.

i dont have the ACC feature on my jeep but ive been very happy with g900 tri pro. I did not go the center dash mount for two reasons: ive read it wobbles but could not confirm. 2) i have a stealth light bar and putting that mirror in that area cluttered up that space.

I did put the jeep oem mount in mine, i disliked the way the wolfbox camera looked using the provided straps on the factory rear view mirror. obviously this is preference. it worked fine all the same, but i hated the look inside and outside the jeep. I wish the mirror was closer to the roof header instead of where it is. Im working on a solution for my needs to remedy this.

I do get a random 'Lock icon' on my screen when ive got my music loud. i run two subs but we are talking small power, maybe 1k watts. is there a way to fix that? Its done the same going over railroad tracks too. IDK if the vibrations are the issue or it thinks its in an accident. idk.

the hardwire kit with 24hr protection should be standard with the kit. Im currently running the obdII hookup instead of the 12v adapter, i have not installed the hardwire kit yet.

i recommend wolfbox products. Customer support has been stellar as well.

As long as you don't intervene with the sensor, it can work.
I can confirm. I’m using the Oem bracket, with one or two tweaks, with adaptive cruise. The mount for the mirror still goes straight up to the rollbar like the non ACC models. It just passes through the enclosure to do it.

Sure. It’s at the body shop, but I should have it back next week I’m hoping.

Any chance to get some photos, I bought the camera during prime days, and I can't figure out how to get the front facing camera to not be obscured by the mount

We just purchased through the Wolf box Amazon store, have not got it fully installed because the bracket to mount the mirror was missing screws, but the running of the wires is all done (What a pain that was) but looking forward to seeing what is possible, hope to finish this week and will post pictures
