Yes, you can fit 35" tires on your Sport without a lift or spacers...maybe...
I played it safe and bought the Kenda Klever R/T KR601 LT35/10.50R-17. I ordered OEM Mopar spare tire steelies to match with them. I wanted to keep as much of the vehicle ride dynamics as I could, and I don't mind the rake at all, in fact, this truck is going to see a lot of heavy work and probably a good amount of overlanding gear from time to time, so I'm cool with the rake.
Sorry for the excessive photos, but when I was researching, I wanted MORE pix of exactly this setup. so here they are...
One caveat to this post is that I have never owned a vehicle that had more than a 4cyl, and I've never owned a proper 4x4. The closest I've gotten was a 2012 Subaru Forester with a 2" lift.
That said, the ride is fabulous, and so far I'm very happy. MPG has dropped to about 17 as far as I can tell. It's shocking how much the wheels/tires reduce it. I may try and find a lighter set of steelies...
As a side note, I'm also adding a Fab Four Stubby, swapping out all the halogen bulbs for LED, and I have a 60% rear seat delete coming...
